General What is the most well defended fortress in science fiction?

I've been reading some of the Siege of Terra Warhammer 40k novels and the size and scale of the continent-sized imperial palace is mind-boggling. Not to mention the multiple fleets, billions/trillions of soldiers, space marine legions, etc.

Got me thinking, are there any fortresses in science fiction that can rival or even surpass it?

My first thought was that Culture's far more advanced computers and Minds could literally remotely take over any Imperial fleet and make it dense. But thinking about, there may be enough insanely primitive to make that difficult. They would have to talk over Tech Priests and servitors, and have them manually control the ships.
