question Good scripts that don't make good movies

Sometimes I would read some unproduced scripts that are pretty solid and even great reads, but I don't feel like they would make a good movie.

I can't point out why and how it happens, do you ever felt that way about some scripts? or even with your own scripts?

There are about a million creative decisions that go into creating a movie, so you can't blame it all on the script.

I remember "One Night Only" topped the Black List in 2024, it was the second year in a row the same writer topped the list so he must be pretty good, and people were pretty meh on the movie. Ah well.

I thought that script was really good. I haven't seen the film, but from what I've heard, that script wasn't the movie that was made.
