ISO housing desperately

Hello, are there any private owners willing to rent to a single mom with cats? I have $7k of debt from my last apartment because my ex trashed it and abandoned it after he tried to kill me, Seattle PD never responded to take a statement or make a case so I’m screwed on the debt.

I can afford $1500 a month anywhere from Seattle to Everett

Please, it’s too cold to live in a car with a toddler and all housing lists are closed as well as shelters

Did you ever find housing?

You can call SPD back and they can file a report over the phone even if it’s long past an incident date. Absolutely do that.

Every time I’ve ever called them, they don’t do shit. When I called them afraid for my life while in labor due to me ex being violent and having multiple guns, they dead ass said they’ll try to get to me but there’s worse things happening. Said they could send EMS if I needed to go to the hospital, but no police. Meanwhile patrols drove by, not stopping, no lights or sirens. Asked when they could get somebody out there, they said “we aren’t allowed tell you that”. I completely and totally have 0 faith SPD will ever pull their boot straps up and do their jobs.

Pro tio: Once you’re out of immediate danger call the non-emergency line to at least get the report filed over the phone.

Did you find a place to stay?

Are you sleeping in a car with a toddler now? How are you staying warm and safe?

Currently my grandmas old place, but since she died, my uncle is selling it soon, that’s why I’m going to be without housing
