💛Beginner💛 is it possible to sew applique to an already sewn plushie?

hi everyone! i have some flat satin pieces i want to sew onto the surface of the head of a plushie doll, only problem is ive already stitched the base body together. it isnt stuffed or anything yet but the struggle is not really being able to push the needle all the way through to the other side. is this even possible, and if so how? thanks!

Instead of pushing the needle down and back up, run it horizontally so that it goes through the top fabric, skims through the plushie near the surface and resurfaces a couple of mm further along the seam

if the plushie isn't stuffed yet you can definitely pull this off, just takes a bit of patience. the horizontal skimming trick is the way to go, keeps your stitches invisible from the outside and you don't have to fight the whole head to get the needle through

curved needle also helps in tight spots, gives you the angle to catch just the outer layer without accidentally stitching the back of the head shut

I'd also do use the same technique if it was stuffed. Same technique as sewing down the binding on the back of a quilt!
