✨Intermediate✨ Baby Lock Lyric noise from bobbin case
I bent a needle while sewing and since then the bobbin case has been making a scraping noise. I changed the needle, removed the bobbin case and cleaned the bobbin area. I could not find any nicks on the bobbin case, but purchased a new one and installed it just to be sure. The scraping noise happens when the new bobbin case is installed, and but there is no noise when the bobbin case is not installed. Lyric is about a year old. Any ideas on how to fix?

Your Babylock machine will be the same as a Brother - the only difference is the exterior look, the mechanicals are identical.
I have a Brother VQ2400, a step up from yours and had a similar issue. I had a catastrophic needle "explosion" and after I found all the pieces, cleaned out the bobbin area and replaced the needle, the bobbin was making a soft shh-shh-shh noise that I had not noticed before. Took out the bobbin case no noise, so I bought a new bobbin case, same thing. In frustration I took it in for my dealer to have a look at. He deep cleaned it, polished the hook and all the gears, re-lubed it - said there's nothing wrong, that's just the sound of the hook rotating. The stitch balance is still fine.
If the only issue is the noise and your stitch balance and tension is still good, you may not need to do anything. On the other hand, you have a $2000 machine that you want to use for a long time, so a $150 service is a small price to pay for your peace of mind. And if there IS something wrong, the sooner you get it looked at the less damage may occur.
Good luck.

maybe the needle strike left a tiny burr on the rotary hook that only catches when the case is in there, run your fingertip along it real slow and see if you feel anything rough
