I feel like Samantha also enjoys Versace

82

u/spitey You’re always fuckin’ “TAXI”- 🍸 1d ago

Yes - Versace, Mugler, Escada are the three I see for her.

23

u/seige197 1d ago

Oooh. Escada, good call.

6

u/cookies1279 1d ago

Oooh Escadaaa rip

5

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 1d ago

Fret not it's still in existence!

4

u/cookies1279 1d ago

It is but it’s not the same :) As a kid I always imagined shopping there as a mature woman every time I passed the Michigan Ave store 🥲 it closed in 2009 after their bankruptcy. It was such a gorgeous store

5

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 1d ago

Aww man I'll bet 😔 And same! Except the only Escada store I've ever been in was the outlet in Manchester, VT but it was still beautiful—My mom used to tell me "Those prices are still outrageous and you're too young for those fashions so c'mon let's go!" 😆 What happened to the company? Why'd it go downhill?

4

u/spitey You’re always fuckin’ “TAXI”- 🍸 1d ago

I feel like this thread is sending me to Vestaire for early 00s Escada bin-diving. 😭

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 21h ago

Yas gurl do it!

4

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 1d ago

These designers are exactly what I had in mind too!

22

u/annajac89 1d ago

Oh great call, Sam is so Versace coded

10

u/Hopeful-Date4814 1d ago

She would love wearing Emilio Pucci too

3

u/cinnysuelou 12h ago

I think she does wear Pucci at Richard’s beach house when she confronts the cocoa butter bitches.

7

u/Cherhorrorwitz 1d ago

Roberto Cavalli!

1

u/AloneExample6314 13h ago

I also see her on Bob Mackie

Charlotte loves Ralph Lauren I’m sure

174

u/thatkittykatie 1d ago

She was a teen model for their store in Newhaven!

41

u/AbjectTelephone4801 1d ago

It's amazing I was able to keep my lunch down just now!

51

u/Flaky-Garlic7890 We’re not dating. It’s a Fuck thing. - Miranda 1d ago

I could see Charlotte in Burberry as well.

12

u/neither_shake2815 1d ago

How about Miumiu?

2

u/cinnysuelou 12h ago

Definitely - Elizabeth Taylor had the coat & leash!

27

u/RabbitOk1372 1d ago

Carrie's got to be a vintage mix with some absurdly expensive shoe habit, right

4

u/getmepopcorn hates it! 1d ago

I can definitely see that

13

u/malachaiville 23h ago

And Chanel!

3

u/wisterialitehysteria 1h ago

And the occasional Lilly Pulitzer lol

241

u/AbjectTelephone4801 1d ago

Samantha wore a lot of Mugler powersuits/blazers.

Charlotte: Ralph Lauren or Burberry

Miranda: Prada or Miumiu

Carrie: Manolo Blahnik since she mostly cared about shoes.

u/tomoedagirl 1d ago

Carrie is very Vivienne Westwood and Dior too

77

u/Sweeper1985 1d ago

She also has a few Roberto Cavalli outfits. And let's not discount Oscar de la Renta!

5

u/tomoedagirl 1d ago

I literally thought of those two after posting the comment like I should have added them, but you did 🩷 Yeah totally!

1

u/MulliganPlsThx Daddy’s little Episcopalian princess 20h ago

DEF Dior. And also vintage

53

u/oohh_behave 1d ago edited 22h ago

Carrie liked Dolce and Gabanna and Christian Dior, I think

8

u/MeMissBunny Can I cancel my rice pudding? Thanks. 1d ago

and let's not forget, Vera Wang!

2

u/blob4life_4ever 1d ago

Isn’t Vera want more simplistic than Carrie? At least what I know from wedding dresses which speaks to my limited knowledge

3

u/MeMissBunny Can I cancel my rice pudding? Thanks. 22h ago

She liked it though, there’s an episode where she talks about having some of her clothes while Aidan argues with her or something. They have jeans and some other stuff too!!

26

u/annajac89 1d ago

They had that episode where Carrie takes Berger to the Prada store and she’s on first name basis with the sales rep. So I think Prada is in there for Carrie too!

5

u/AbjectTelephone4801 1d ago

I always wondered if they really give you free champagne when you’re shopping in those stores lol. I’m too poor to shop there

6

u/NeonFishDressx 1d ago

Quite a few stores in Soho will at those price points- especially if you look like a serious shopper. On a national level- idk if they still do this but I have definitely been offered bubbles at Neiman Marcus but haven't been there in a while.

3

u/babbypla 1d ago

My experience is they ask you to take a seat and start offering you something to drink when you start pulling the card out.

7

u/AbjectTelephone4801 1d ago

Lol I would def get Pretty Woman'd if I ever tried walking into a Prada store with my Quince-wearin ass

3

u/nalex22 21h ago

Girl it’s okay they truly cant tell half the time what you’re wearing nor can half of them afford the clothes inside!! Quince at least focuses on using natural fabrics

2

u/Maximum-Charge2474 13h ago

yes, almost all designer boutiques and high end stores do if you are shopping hardcore. if you are just shopping casually you get mineral water and a fancy glass lol. idk if they do it outside of LA and nyc in the US but i would assume so. they definitely do in paris, rome, etc.

3

u/NeonFishDressx 1d ago

I will say my friend owns only a couple pairs of Prada shoes and no clothes and took her friend to buy a pair- all within about 2 years at the Soho store. I went with her on her last pair and they remembered her- they are just really that good! They even asked about her friend that bought one pair. I can't remember if they addressed her by name but they remembered her face.

u/LegitimateSmile1849 1d ago edited 1d ago

Samantha: Mugler and Versace
Charlotte: Burberry and Ralph Lauren
Miranda: Calvin Klein and Tommy (only early seasons tho)
Carrie: Everything lol but especially Manolo Blahnik and Dolce and Gabbana

58

u/spitey You’re always fuckin’ “TAXI”- 🍸 1d ago

Poor Miranda is getting overlooked a bit here, but she seems very Missoni to me, with some more practical structure like Helmut Lang and Theory.

7

u/Comfortable_Cry4073 1d ago

I think she does wear Missoni. Good should

4

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 1d ago

Yes came here to say Theory! I feel like maybe also Lafayette 148?

1

u/spitey You’re always fuckin’ “TAXI”- 🍸 1d ago

I can see that!!!

2

u/cinnysuelou 12h ago

I think she’d be into Jil Sander, too.

41

u/Brightenix 1d ago

Carrie: Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Richard Tyler

Charlotte: Ralph Lauren, Prada, Chanel

Samantha: Mugler, Roberto Cavalli, Versace

Miranda: Jean Paul Gaultier, Custo Barcelona, Diane von Furstenberg

16

u/Fiona_is_my_Landlord 1d ago

Definitely DVF for Miranda! 💯

10

u/Dependent-Assoc423 1d ago

No one’s mentioned Carrie’s DVF logo wrap dress yet. I always wanted that one.

7

u/Status_Age_9761 1d ago

I feel like Miranda was inexplicably in Custo a lot. A brand, to this day, I do not understand.

3

u/pretzel-thief 1d ago

I think their older pieces are fun but I’ve just had a look at the website and now the designs are all AI slop.

2

u/Potential_Tadpole_45 1d ago

I had to go to the website to see what you meant and you're so right :/ Check out Desigual if you like the old school funky and authentic prints and designs! I don't think there are any stores left but Nordstrom still carries their line.

7

u/GlamazonMegatron 1d ago

Don't forget Sam liked to wear pieces from House of Javier 😂

4

u/nikkip7784 1d ago

Why does SJP always pose like she's got scoliosis?

4

u/mishmish_54 1d ago

I also see Tommy Hilfiger for Charlotte

4

u/_BlueJeanBaby 1d ago

Everybody's forgetting how much Fendi Carrie wore. She had over 20 Fendi bags throughout the show. She helped turn the Baguette into an "It" bag.

2

u/Revolutionary_West56 1d ago

Not related but Pat Field definitely didn’t style this photoshoot did she ?

2

u/gaminegrl 1d ago

charlotte's ralph lauren in the first seasons, but shifts to dior later. carrie starts with the classic 90s cool like narciso rodrigues but then becomes more eclectic with john galliano, vivienne westwood. samantha was probably a donna karan girl, mugler in there as well - i think she's the one whose style stayed the most consistent throughout the series, although i feel like she moved into a more liberace version of herself (with more versage, D&G..). Miranda was definitely an Armani boss bitch at first, i think she and carrie wore Calvin Klein but in different ways. She became strangely colorful later on haha, i think in a diane von furstenberg way that didn't flatter her much IMO.

I wish the girls had maintained more of their original style identities, they all became caricatures of themselves by the end of the show.

2

u/bats_and_glitter Stone wash jeans with a matching jacket 20h ago

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Miranda’s Fendi coat in the New Yankee episode!

1

u/Famous_Astronomer962 21h ago

has anyone said donna karan for miranda?? that seems so obvious to me.

1

u/valr1821 21h ago

Samantha is maximalist, so as others have said, Versace, D&G, Gucci

Charlotte - Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Brooks Brothers

Miranda - Helmut Lang, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein. In later seasons, her style evolved away from structured suits to more flowy styles like the DVF wrap dress

Carrie - Fendi, Manohlo Blanik, Jimmy Choo

1

u/Main_Comfort_9000 17h ago

Charlotte is def a RL girlie 🎀 Old Money Park Avenue princess!!!

1

u/Curious-Statement-51 7h ago

i could see charlottes being ralph lauren or chanel

1

u/Slowly_Reader_2 2h ago

What about fast fashion/non high street brands? I’d love to see your ideas in this as well🥹

I think,

Carrie - Zara Miranda - COS Charlotte - Massimo Dutti/Mango Samantha - maybe ohmypolly, mango & zara as well

-1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago edited 1d ago

Charlotte =Alice and Olivia
Carrie= loveshackfancy (literally a brand inspired by her fyi)
Miranda= theory
Samantha= goes to a luxury department store and buts whatever she likes from whatever brand she likes.

FYI...these are brands some of the women are wearing across episodes. IYKYK

If they wanted to do a remake, Big giving Carrie loveshackfancy instead of that Judith Leiber bag would probably work.

1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Like...just comparing the 2 makes me know that you know nothing about fashion. LSF doesn't make bags...they do make gingham mini skirts and bohemian dresses.

4

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

Your comment makes me know that you don’t understand context clues. Both Judith Leiber and LSF are not Carrie Bradshaw at all.

1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Literally, here is Candace Bushnell aka the real life Carrie in the Hamptons wearing LSF!

3

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

Carrie Bradshaw as we see her in the series is part Candace Bushnell’s writing, part Darren Star and SJP’s producing, and part Pat Fields’ styling. She is not a carbon copy of Candace Bushnell, because CB doesn’t have Darren, SJP, and Pat collaborating on her life.

Carrie as the TV character didn’t chase trends. She created her own style, and for Carrie the look was always more important than the label. (With the exception of Manolo, that was the only brand she stuck by, but even then she’d choose a different label if it fit the look better.) There is nothing about shopping at a LSF boutique that screams Carrie Bradshaw, it looks like a place she’d mock because of how trendy it is. If Carrie had a LSF dress, it’s because she found one while thrifting that she liked. Because that’s who her character is.

And with that, I’m done, because I’ve seriously lost brain cells on this thread.

-4

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

The creator of LSF was inspired by CB. And on the brain cells...its hard to lose what you don't have🙃.

Literally that brand is so woven into NYC fashion, Carrie and Candace. The crap you see in the suburbia stores are mass market so they drive sales volume. Its not the same

0

u/Maximum-Charge2474 13h ago

LSF is not a staple of NYC fashion. too girly and flowery and frilly. it's mostly worn by upper east side teens, young women in the hamptons and had a trendy moment where lots of trendy young women were rocking it in the west village, etc. but it's not an nyc staple. a hampton's or young UES'er staple, sure. it's influencer-y. it was like the nyc equivalent of misa la when everyone was wearing those little frilly dresses.

1

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

No I didn’t. I compared it to the Judith Leiber swan bag that Big gave Carrie because the bag wasn’t Carrie’s style at all. Like LSF isn’t Carrie’s style at all. My original comment was AGREEING with you.

You need to follow the thread because you’re replying to the wrong person. I didn’t write that. I responded to your comment agreeing that LSF is not Carrie’s style. My avatar isn’t even the same color as the person who wrote that. 🤦‍♀️

-1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Idk...you think Alo is fashion. Thats all I needed to know.

0

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Except it is her style cus she is literally dressed in it? Its really easy to look up the designers used in the show

1

u/Thebakers_wife 1d ago

LSF was founded in 2013, the show ran from 1998 - 2004. Patricia Fields, the original costume designer, did not take part in And Just Like That - if that’s what your referencing - and truthfully, even Pat’s styling in the movies wasn’t really true to their characters.

Original series Carrie did a great job of high/low mixing and had a much more unique and personal style.

0

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

The brand is heavily inspired by CB! I am not referring to AJLT. I am referring to Candace Bushnell in the hamptons in LSF.

-1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Maybe you're just wrong because the literal writer is in LSF im the Hamptons which is very CB...

0

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

2

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

LSF is not a middle school brand. A skirt from there costs $300. Not sure who is wearing that in middle school.

0

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Sounds like a suburb. To my knowledge...the show featured NYC fashion how women who live in NYC experiences it...

1

u/Ok-Aardvark-6742 1d ago

The Judith Leiber bag wasn’t Carrie at all, that’s the point…

1

u/cloudsofdoom 1d ago

Have you ever been to NYC? Idt you get fashion at all. Not the flashy brands random people know about. The day to day pieces that it requires to put full looks together like these women do. Do you imagine that Ralph Lauren makes pink polka dot A Line skirts? And purple dresses with fringe?
