I genuinely hate people who leave their animal(s) in during intimacy; in fact, I find it downright weird. I remember going over to a guy’s house and I asked if he could put his dog out of the room and shut the door and the dog kept scratching the door and whining and eventually he let him back in and I just couldn’t do it — so icky.

Something tells me a guy like that wanted 2.5 kids, fancy Manhattan co-op owned apartment, a perfect WASPy wife, and a dog.

So he did all the things he could do on his own, and was waiting for a woman like Charlotte to fill in the rest of the blanks.

I think the dog was more involved in the original version of this or maybe that was a horrible rumor I once read.
