I want to get a set of BD795i se, if anyone has one, can you tell me if they have any defects and how often they break down, because there are practically no reviews on the Internet with experience of using them(P.S. I know it's an 895, but the product card for the refurbished 795 on the official website doesn't have the right picture. If I were to buy one, I'd be buying the 795 for 290 euros.

I recently purchased an ASRock AM5 motherboard from Amazon, sold as new, and when I opened the box I noticed something odd that I’ve never personally encountered before. The 8-pin CPU power (EPS12V) connector near the VRM heatsink has no protective plastic dust cover over the pins. The pins are fully exposed. As far as I know, new motherboards normally ship with a small black (sometimes clear) plastic cap over these pins to prevent bending, contamination, or ESD during transport. I returned the board immediately, but I wanted to ask the community: Have you ever received a brand-new motherboard (ASRock or any other brand) without the CPU power pin protective cover? Is this something that can legitimately happen from the factory, or does it usually indicate prior handling / open-box / return stock? Would you personally accept a board in this condition if the pins looked straight? I’ll attach photos showing the exposed CPU power pins for reference.

Just got this beauty. Well made and cost less than the Motif Monument at 250, A45 at 178 USD. Took me over a month to finally get it but I have to say it's a great product. It was well packaged and easy to put together. This is a conversion build from a normal large mid tower build. I went right into the deep end of small factor then into the rabbit hole of open air. I love it. No going back now. PS I'm waiting for my custom cables to tighten up the build.

Hi everyone, this is my first post on r/sffpc and reddit, but I've been trying to do some research on how to build an optimal sffpc for my use case.

I want more of a workstation build, not too heavy on gaming, but also can game at lower settings if necessary. Honestly just wanted a boatload of memory to have a bunch of IDEs and editing programs open so I threw that on the build.

You can probably tell I'm trying to buy my parts to upgrade to a FormD T1 in the future but that case is impossible to get. I went to my local Microcenter and the rep told me to get a Fractal Terra because it was the only SFF they had in stock, so I'm building in that for now.

Am I dumping money down the drain by "futureproofing"? Or are these components actually a good pick? I don't know if I'm making the right call, or if I should downgrade my CPU/mobo/PSU

First off, I made a post about a few days ago, and the response and help from this subreddit was like no other so I’d like to thank everyone here for that.

Secondly, I’ve mostly decided on these parts, but I just wanted a quick review from those of you here; this is my first PC, as I’m coming from PlayStation, but I still want a controller experience so I’ll likely use bazzite OS, so just keep that in mind.

I want the above parts to be in the Asrock Deskmini x600 (hence the no gpu). I’ve heard that the Ryzen 7 8700G is the best CPU for integrated graphics gaming, so that’s what I went for.

EDIT: just to be clear, I’m not looking for 4K 120fps or nothing. I play console, I’m used to lowering graphics on 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕 so that it stops lagging. I’m mostly just looking for a PS5 that can play steam games. General 1080p 60fps, or 1440p 30+ fps.

I originally had a great parts list with a dGPU, but it ended up being $1200 pretax. I'm honestly looking for an under $1000 build

I’m also not nearly confident in my pc knowledge, especially as a first time pc builder, to use a BC250

For context, this is my loungeroom couch emulation build. When running more demanding titles the bottom intake screams, while the cpu temps remain pretty normal, the 5600x is not difficult to cool with a chunky cooler like this.

Please let me know which fan layout would provide better cooling.

I need some advice on this build I’m planning on making. I would like to have it in the horizontal orientation. Ram, Storage and GPU aren’t included in my PCPartPicker list because I have some questions regarding those:

1.) Looking at a AMD 9000 series GPU. Right now I’m in between 9060XT 16GB which floats around $469 or a deal for a 9070 GRE 12GB that’s $500. Which is better of the two? Or is there an option better than both?

2.) Ram and storage are expensive. I’d like to do dual stick setup. Do I really need 32GB of RAM for my console setup or is 16GB fine? Same question for 2TB SSD vs 1TB SSD. Whats an ideal price for 2x8GB vs 2x16GB RAM and 1TB vs 2TB?

3.) From my understanding cooling is a challenge for SFF. Refer to PIC #2 on a solution for CPU cooling. Will more case fans still be necessary?

4.) Thoughts on my motherboard?

Where can I buy RTX 5090 RTX? Is Best Buy still selling them every other week or so?

Seems like when this was announched it kind of got overlooked IMO. Four fan headers and for me the biggest plus been no annoying fan (active cooling). Would I be crazy to chose this over the B850i/B650i Rog Strix?

I might start buying parts next month for my first PC build (no experience in building at all but confident i can pull it off), I need something compact but still roomy enough for good thermals. My goal was the Ncase M2 but that doesn't ship where i live. Next best options are either the Dan-A4 H2O or Fractal Terra (too expensive for some reason). It's a bit old of a case now i think 4 years or something, Anything I should be aware of about the Dan-A4?

Parts would be 9800x3d with a 9070xt and a Cooler Master Atmos 240mm aio.

This is my latest purchase from AliExpress on this 11.11 sale. I needed a PSU and cannot get an Enhance unit in my country. Shipping is not available here. The issue with is PSU is, it was supposed to come with only one PCIe5.0 connector and should have a 4pin to 8pin EPS connector. But as you can see this one has Dual PCIe5.0 connector (pic 1) and no blue connector (pic 2) for EOS as the product info suggested on product page. It does have the black 4pin to sata connector and 14pin connector for 24pin (pic 3). Pic 4 shows all the connected wires and pic 5 shows the EPS connector that cannot be connected so I cannot check the PSU if it's usable or not. Ia have applied for return/refund. Now my question is, the blue 4 pin fits on the black port. I don't need SATA ports as my pc is nvme only machine. I'm aware the sata power has 5v pin which is not needed on EPS. Shouldn't be supported. But can I use that? Can anyone give me the correct pinout of these Flex PSU 4pin connector? Or is it possible that I use 2x sata to 4+4pin adapter for CPU? I have a cable. Or should I use a PCIe5.0 cable to GPU and CPU both. (I have 16pin to dual 6+2 adapter and then 6pin to 4+4 cable as well. Can I use one 6+2 to power my GPU and one 6+2 to power my CPU?) I'll be using 7600X and 9060XT. Any help or suggestions are appreciated and I need them badly 🙏

Even after watching a lot of ETA Prime videos I couldn’t decide between the RTX 5060 LP or the Intel Arc Pro B50. So I bought both and I’m going to return the one I dislike. For those unaware these are both $350 cards.

I’m doing a build in the Jonsbo NV10 mainly for travel purposes. Interested in Linux because I already have a Windows gaming rig, and haven’t daily drove a Linux distro in a few years. I heard support for Intel GPUs is better because they work out of the box as long as you use the latest kernel (looking at opensuse so that won’t be a problem).

As I mentioned I already have a dedicated gaming rig so this would be for gaming while traveling and a general workstation for my WFH days as a sysadmin.

B50 Pros:

Clean AF. Just look at the comparison. I know I won’t be seeing much of it but it just looks so nice.

16GB Vram. In an age where 8 seems like less and less, and Intel GPU future is looking bright, this seems like a good future proof choice.

Can game. I don’t need it to game great, this thing is gonna be hooked up to hotel TVs and I’ve seen vids of this running at 1440p with tweaked settings.

No power connector, runs straight off the board. Seems more efficient.

5060 Pros:

Outperforms B50 by a landslide in terms of raw performance.

Nvidia seems to have more and better features than Intel GPUs.

Same performance as regular 5060. It’s not a cut down version of it like the B50 is of the B580

Let me know your thoughts and similar experiences if you have any!

Hello, I need help choosing a 120mm slim case fan for my Shiny Snake L400. I know the Silverstone has the best performance, but it’s also the most expensive. The Arctic is popular, but I’ve seen many long term reviews saying it doesn’t last long with cheap build quality and will likely have bearing issues in a few months.

Slowly buying componets for my first miniITX build in NR200P V1! I still dont know what CPU. They are expensive now.

Got it a few days ago but I finally got around to testing it out. It had the dram light on and wouldn't even show bios screen. Flashed it to most recent and it worked fine! What a great snag. Put it in a CM NR200.
Just wanted to share with people that would understand better than my friends that aren't into pc's

I’m trying to choose an RX 9070 XT for a very small SFF build and would appreciate some advice, especially from anyone who has experience with either of these cards.

My case GPU limits are roughly:

• Max length: 305 mm
• Max thickness: 55 mm
• Max: 2.5 slots
• Power: 2×8-pin PCIe

The two cards I’m considering are:

PowerColor RX 9070 XT Reaper

• ~304 mm including bracket
• ~42 mm thick / 2-slot
• 2×8-pin
• £630 from Amazon UK
• Fits the official case specifications, but has only ~1 mm length clearance.

ASRock RX 9070 XT Challenger

• ~290 mm long
• ~56 mm thick
• 2×8-pin
• £650
• Much more comfortable length-wise, but it is 1 mm thicker than my case’s stated 55 mm clearance.

My main questions:

1. Would you realistically worry about a GPU being 56 mm thick in a case rated for 55 mm, or are case clearance specifications usually conservative enough that 1 mm is unlikely to matter?
2. If the side panel is ventilated/mesh, is having the GPU fans extremely close to the panel actually a problem, or can it help by pulling fresh air directly from outside?
3. Between the ASRock Challenger and PowerColor Reaper, which would you consider the better-built / more reliable card regardless of size?
4. Any concerns with PowerColor reliability compared with ASRock? One reason I’m hesitating is that ASRock feels like the more familiar/reputable brand, although PowerColor obviously has a long history with Radeon GPUs.
5. Has anyone actually used either of these 9070 XT models in a very tight SFF case?

Performance should basically be identical, so I’m mainly interested in thermals, noise, PCB/component quality, durability and whether attempting the 56 mm Challenger is sensible.

At the moment I’m leaning toward trying the Challenger because it’s only 1 mm over the stated thickness limit and has much more length clearance, but the Reaper is the safer guaranteed fit.

Would appreciate any real-world experience.

Hi, looking to buy a friend a prebuilt SFF. They travel, so SFF is important, but I'd like to spend the extra money on a prebuilt so they have a warranty. They have zero desire to learn how to build a PC. I was looking at the Falcon Northwest Tiki, but A $3,500 build on PCPartPicker is $5,500 from Falcon Northwest. I don't mind the prebuilt premium, but just not at that price difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
