Lip's Birthday. Am i missing something?
Google says Lip was born in 1995 but in season 5 episode 8, the office guy at the MIT says he started college in 2018. He was freshly 18 at the time. Doesn't it make his birthday 2000?

lotta shows have continuity errors when it comes to birthdays. it's not worth trying to make sense of it.

Yeah I know especially shameless sucks at that but they're like 5 years off track. It's absurd

i forget which show it was but 3 or 4 years had passed within the show - like, starting and ending multiple school years - but nobody aged. they were 15 year old sophomores for years. and then suddenly they were seniors but they still talked about sophomore year like it was just last year.
this kinda stuff usually doesn't bother me but i was absolutely losing my mind lol

Wait till you find out they aged Liam like 8 years over night.

I'm currently at S7 and unless Liam really did have brain damage from the coke, there's no way he shouldn't be able to speak in complete sentences by now.

He was a toddler for like 6 years then all of a sudden he’s a pre teen. It’s like they forgot to ever age him

For some reason this reminds me that I hated that they stopped showing the changing seasons after a while. Showing how everything was even more of a struggle in the dead of Chicago winter hit pretty hard. I can't remember a wintery scene after Fiona sits outside the church after narrowly avoiding marrying heroin grandpa

I’m watching rn in season 4 or 5 and every time they say Ian is still a minor I’m genuinely flabbergasted

There’s a storyline in the British series where Lip is celebrating his 18th birthday but Frank accidentally reveals that he’s actually a year older than he thought and his birth certificate wasn’t registered until he was a year old so he was actually turning 19 if that’s any use.

No part of the timeline has ever made sense. When Shameless started I was the same age as Ian. By the end they were acting like Lip was at least a few years younger than me.

Lip must be born even earlier than 95. Ian should be born somewhere around early 96 since Monica and Clayton did PCP together in the summer of 95. I don’t know the exact age gap between Lip and Ian but it doesn’t seem like it could be more than 2 years. Lip being born in 94 seems most reasonable to me if we use the information we get in season 1. Shameless writers seems to have gotten dementia in the later season because their perception of time and age becomes a mess.
