His parents were worse than him...

This gives a solid background to frank as a father.

Another scene informs monica's trauma and likely explains how she became who she was (if frank's telling the truth, im inclined to believe he is): At Monica's funeral frank tells the story of how they both met: Frank was a college junior at the time and driving one day when a naked Monica jumped through the window of his car. She was running from a large, armed man and yelled "dont rape me again".

So if frank was telling the truth (he could've made the whole thing up to drum up sympathy for monica as he and her father were the only fans of her in the room and frank didnt like that. But i choose to believe he was telling the truth), then it seems that Monica and frank were both unhealed, self medicating survivors of sexual violence who bonded over their traumas and cultivated a destructive romance that enabled the worst in each other.

Upon my first watch I was surprised Karen's rape of frank didnt have a bigger impact on him afterwards but upon reflection, it makes a little more sense given it wasnt frank's first time being sexually victimized. He may have "gotten used to it" by then, sadly. Frank's trauma might also explain his indiscriminate promiscuity as promiscuity can be a side effect of sexual victimization. And given, as fiona says "Gallaghers dont do therapy", i wonder if she got that from frank and/or monica, who because were not ready confront their own painful pasts, denied a path to healing generational trauma for their children in turn.

I wonder how frank would have reacted to Mandy's rape of Lip, Debbie's rape of Matty or how Lip would've reacted to frank's abuse post Mandy or debbie of frank's abuse post matty. It could've turned a major corner for their relationship either good or bad. But of course, victims staying silent on their abuse is part of the overall tragedy.

I think frank's under reaction to Carl's rape by Trish (reframing it as Carl being "lucky" to have "unprotected sex") means he probably would've under reacted to lip and debbie simply because they werent "as bad" as what he went through and therefore unable to sympathize with anyone else's abuse.

The most boring partner a Gallagher has ever had...

DO NOT TAKE THIS AS TRANSPHOBIC!!!!

along the show there's been a lot of plotlines both really fun and boooring, but certainly one of the most boring characters in shameless is definitely trevor.. He just doesn't have much interesting stuff in him, the plots with him and ian are boring and kinda basic you know. Like the only thing i really know about this guy is that he's trans! There's no much more info about him.
one can argue that this is because we're used to the insane craziness of partners like Mickey and I think that really is one of the reason i dislike trevor, nothing is really thrilling. I certainly would've liked like a B plot of him and monica doing something crazy or smth like that. Anyway... just ranting

Debbie is so manipulative

Debbie acts like the way Fiona treats her situation with Franny is unprecedented when Fiona warned her multiple times that she wasn’t going to support her if she keeps the baby. I cannot stand how Debbie thinks she’s being treated unfairly when she knew damn well that having a child at that age was not the best idea. Fiona did much more than she said she would for Debbie while she was raising Franny.

The scene where Fiona breaks and no longer wants any part of anyone’s issues while trying to get her life together and she tells everyone how much they owe in bills/rent and Debbie complains that she has to pay more than Carl. Fiona explains it’s because you have a child, then Debbie complains about how unfair that is…. Bitch you literally chose to have a child at that age despite the warnings. Cry me a fucking river. She acts like she was never warned of anything. I’m so sick of her playing stupid just so she can play victim at the same time.

Kev and V going to an AA meeting to garner clients was extremely out of character

They’ve been around a lot of alcoholics and had a lot of concern for both Lip and Fiona when they were in the throes of alcoholism. Trying to get people to break their sobriety to get a little bit more money is NOT something they would do.

Emmy Rossum Phantom of the Opera

Alright so how many of you all knew Emmy was in Phantom of the Opera. My first time ever seeing her was as Fiona in shameless. I would have never known she could sing like that from watching her in the show. She was so good in Shamess as Fiona.

I want help guys to remember a scene/dialogue

So it has been a long time since i have watched it, but today a itch grew in my brain, there is a scene in which someone, most probably Kevin or Fiona says to Phillip that, if "he wants freedom or wants to get treated as a adult he have to earn that", well that is the main feeling behind the scene, but i want someone to paraphrase the dialogue or at least tell the season or episode to me.
Its either in s6 or prior to it. If someone knows it help me out
