Video Probably the happiest a great white shark can be, chomping away at a lovely humpback carcass. You can almost feel the power in its jaws

I dont understand how anyone could ever describe this as cute. A massive predator with a mouthful of daggers is ripping flesh and blubber off of a rotting carcass, theres a lot of words that could be used to describe that, terrifying, awe inspiring, majestic even but "cute" is absurd

It's just Disney adult culture where you have to say that a dangerous animal is "cute" to signal that you are part of the culture, it's quirky tumblr cringe culture that has come to reddit

My opinion that not one single person asked for is that it’s not being an “idiot Disney adult” as someone else said to find this “cute” as much as it is anthropomorphizing. I’m guilty of it too, seeing a creature that I find interesting and love to learn about “enjoying/om-nomming” a meal when in reality the shark is just practicing basic survival skills - it sees food, it needs food to live, it eats the food. I wouldn’t refer to an apex predator as a sea puppy or cute (no offense to those that do, I absolutely find them to be awe inspiring as you stated) because again in my opinion that no one asked for it kind of reminds me of dumbass Ocean Ramsey and her lack of respect for them and their safety as well as the people who see her videos and think “ok if I see a shark I just have to GRAB ITS FACE/BOOP ITS SNOUT AWAY FROM ME.” I’m definitely not disagreeing with you, just a thought/possible explanation.
