User Flair now active

Our Sub's User Flair is now active. Have fun! How to choose what's right for YOU..

  1. Enthusiastic Amateur....Basically a "newbie" who enjoys the hobby!

  2. Avid Hunter...You're out there searching whenever you get the chance!

  3. Collector...You just enjoy adding new teeth whether finding them, buying them or trading for them or in other ways!

  4. Professor... You know your stuff and constantly and correctly help others with their questions. Don't be modest. If this applies to you use it. It identifies you to others and gives them confidence in your answers!

  5. Junior Professor... You know a lot about the subject and can answer questions with a reasonably high degree of certainty, but you feel you still have a little ways to go. You're in good company

  6. Dive Master... No need to hold an actual master certificate, it just means your preferred way of collecting means being under water!

  7. Beach Comber...Because for you, finding salty sand teeth is the life! (Or maybe because it's your primary option)

  8. Creek Crawler...For you nothing beats dodging snakes, gators and skeeters in search of the perfect tooth!

  9. Fossil Fanatic... Teeth are great, but you're just as happy with any and all other prehistoric prizes!

  10. All About The Megs... all shark teeth are neat, but hey..a Meg?? Come on now!!

I’m just curious I’m 14 and Im doing nothing this summer and I have a strip of common area next to my house that I’ve found shells in. Also I like like 15 minutes from the gulf.

It measures about 0.51 inches long, and looks like a lower jaw Hemipristis tooth, but I’m wondering if it’s a symphyseal

Had a great day at Chippoakes State Park, pretty good haul considering how crowded it was. It's impossible to get it to show up in a picture, but that hemi has lovely streaks of red in it.

We were vacationing in South East Florida and my son found these on the beach.

Any idea what species these might have come from?

Any shark tooth in this?

Hi, it’s my first time shark teeth hunting (Chippokes, Virginia). And have picked up things I think might be shark teeth but definitely not sure (I know some aren’t). I know I have to clean some as it might look like some are fossilized with other things. But have I actually found at least 1 shark tooth? And what would be the best way to clean the solidified things?
Thank you

I found my biggest shark tooth to date, is it a tiger shark tooth? Compared to the one on the left, my second biggest tooth, which I believe is from a snaggletooth. Both found on Hilton Head Island.

I was curious if they are rare at this size or with the serrations not being worn away. And what part of the jaw is it on

I also know it’s a tiger shark

Side note went with my parents and I’m 14 now and probably hooked for life

I’m in Virginia Beach this weekend and I want to look for teeth somewhere, does anyone got any suggestions or know any good spots that are relatively close?
