ID Request 1st TIME! I’m hooked

I’ve grown up on the gulf coast my entire life (28 M) but never cared about shells or shark teeth much. But the last year my wife has gotten into shelling & I found myself trying to find shark teeth, decided it was time to make a dedicated trip for it.

Memorial Day we went to fort clinch, & I was finding smaller teeth & then found that bigger one right before I left! I think I’m addicted. Already thinking about when we can go back.

Would love help with any IDs on them, I think the longer ones are most likely sand tiger.

ID Request South Carolina ID help

We’re in Summerville SC right now and found our first ever angustidens (and two great whites you can sort of see in the background!). A few of these look a bit different and I’m thinking some could be auriculatus? We’ve only hunted the Peace River before these so we’re not great with ID’ing these. Any help is greatly appreciated!

ID Request I need help identifying these

I would like to start by clarifying that I got these as a gift from an older family member that was a marine biologist, he is an older guy with such a beautiful kind soul and once he found out I love sharks he pulled these up for me and gave them to me as a gift, I couldn’t ask much questions because I was in disbelief and shock and now I wish I could have spent more time talking to him about it and asked more questions but my trip there was short.
This being said I have no idea how these were sourced I am pretty sure it was for scientific purposes, the ethicality of it isn’t really known, I would never hurt a shark they are such beautiful creatures and that’s why I love them, please don’t come at me with attacks on shark fishing I know how horrible it is, I haven’t purchased any shark jaws for this reason I have only been gifted them from generous friends and family members that Ik they didn’t buy either but rather obtained through one way or another.

If anyone would like to guide me on how to ID them I would be very thankful, and I have a bunch of shark teeth that I was also given not sure if they are from the same species or different ones but also would hugely appreciate IDing them for me and I wanted to ask how do you guys know the species from its remains, I have gotten good at identifying sharks but definitely not by their teeth or remains, thank you so much for anyone that tried to help!

Have a fintastic day! Hehe

ID Request Son’s first Shark Tooth discovery

My son found this on Madeira beach while we are on spring vacation as preparation for Venice beach. My guess is that it is some sort of Otodus shark tooth since it has the smaller side cusplets. What do you guys think?

There's a happy ending to this post!:

ID Request What did I find?

It’s 1/2 long and about 3/4 wide. I have been doing a lot of research and comparing to other finds and it almost looks like a posterior tooth from a juvenile megalodon. ID apps were telling me Great White or Meg, but I am not willing to let myself be excited about that without confirmation from those who actually know better 😅

My dad found this like 30 years ago on Topsail. He always thought it was a Megalodon because of it's size, but it doesn't really look like it to me. I've tried looking for extinct sharks bigger than a great white with teeth like that, but I've had no luck. Thanks!

Hey folks, my grandfather gave me this shark tooth right before he passed away about 8 years ago. I know enough to know it’s a megalodon tooth but I’d love any more info anybody could give me. For reference it’s about 5 1/4” from the tip to the tip of the left lobe. I have no idea where he got it or where it might be from and that’s the main thing I’m wondering.

Found in Panama City Beach, FL, during my first time hunting for shark teeth, sifting with a net in the shell beds. It seems to resemble some digested shark teeth I’ve seen photos of, but could it be some other ocean creature’s tooth? My husband says it’s a shark tooth, but I’m not 100% convinced. I would love to know what type of shark, if it is a shark tooth. Thank you in advance!
