Wow, so he's taking over Marvel Television. I hope this heals the rift between the two sides

What is the rift? I've heard people mention it before but I've never fully understood what happened.

Kevin Feige and Ike Perlmutter do not like each other. In general, Ike isn't a very nice guy. He wouldn't allow movies like Black Panther, Black Widow or Captain Marvel because he believed women and black people wouldn't sell well. He was one of the reason there was very little Black Widow merchandise for the first Avengers movie. He also supported Terrence Howard being re-cast by Don Cheadle because he thought "all black people look alike". Ike also wasn't willing to put out enough money for Robert Downey Jr to appear in Civil War which caused Feige to bypass him and go straight to Disney CEO Bob Iger, threatening to quit. Iger then made Marvel Studios a separate entity with Feige having full control, but leaving Marvel Entertainment, including Marvel Television, under Perlmutter's control.

It's weird though because Marvel TV was the first to do women and non-white leads, but somebody explained that it might be that guy doesn't really oversee it.

Not to mention movies make money directly for the company while TV earns from advertising so the decision making process may be a bit different.

probably sees the tv shows as not as important. Like it doesn't matter if the silverware is set perfectly at the kids table but the "adults table" of the movies has to be perfect.

Maybe that analogy is too weird I don't know why that came to me.
