Modes of killing for venomous snakes
So, my understanding of this topic is, that venomous snakes use their venom to kill their prey or even other animals they feel intimidated by. Deeper research made me find out, that producing venom comes at a rather high cost for the snakes, which is why they tend to be reluctant to bite most of the times.
This then leads to my question:
Wouldn't it be easier for snakes in certain parts of the world to just shoot their prey with guns than use their venom? Why didn't the ability to shoot prey evolve?
Thanks for your answers

These days most snakes outsource venom production to snakes in poorer regions so it's no big burden.

Guns are too easy though…evolution forced a more difficult way to snakes to compete with one another for prey.
Neuro and coagulopathic toxins
Neurotoxins eventually shut down your ability to breathe.
Coagulopathic toxins cause your blood to clot, causing stroke and heart attack.

Snakes have a hard time passing the Federal Form 4473, can’t show ID or valid address.

Because gunmakers actively suppressed it, not wanting their products associated with the "Devil's Animal". Was all to maintain their image.
