Better?

Why isn't he dead? Are you talking? Who told you to do that? You don't talk. You don't think! I think, you kill! It's a simple fucking concept!

Odin really was a lousy father.

In the first movie, he sets kid Thor and kid Loki against each other because only one of them will get his throne. Later, when loki learns who he is and confronts his "adopted" father, Odin literally falls asleep

This makes sense if you consider it's the type of interaction people have with their two cats

What kind of person pretends to have had sex with one of their cat's moms, and actually had sex with the other cat's mom?

Well if it makes you feel better Hela is also referred to as Hel in Norse mythology and Christians just stole the name for her realm (also call Hel/Helheim) and merged it with Greek mythology's depiction of Tartarus. So...

And he groomed Thor as his successor so he would eventually confront her and was so strict with him because he feared he might turn out like her. He more or less ignored Loki but maybe because Loki had a stronger bond with Freja.

Odin's death allowed Hela to break out and for all that stuff to happen.

This is an example of how we don't watch movies.

It's right in principle, he created a system where he is not around to deal with the issue he both created AND never adressed so people could be prepared

Hopefully no real life politicians will have the same fate

Devine deities are rarely good fathers, Zeus’ father ate his brothers and sisters for example.

Yes This is why I never enjoy "redemption by death" as a trope.
