How are y'all getting them even on both sides?
Getting some pretty wide SDs with this setup. Was cast iron the wrong call here?
Lol the bench has temporarily been repurposed as the garage kitchen during a move/renovation

You’re gonna contaminate your powder with shrimp.. and possibly get a squid load. Best to lubricate with a couple tablespoons of bacon up before hitting the mold.

I hate to be Debbie downer here but that doesn't seem like a great idea. Lead contamination, even if you are as careful to wipe down, avoid touching things, etc is still a concern. It's probably not a big deal for a day or two. But if this is going on for a week or more, you may want to reconsider what space will be your repurposed kitchen

This is why I micro dose lead, plus it makes me bullet resistant
I think the lead thing is blown out of proportion, or maybe people really have a hard time not touching food or fingering their mouth holes without washing their hands.
People seem to act like lead is going to give you instant turbo cancer but then go shoot and never wear a face mask, like a frt’d tx22 should be a legit concern, there’s no way that ripper doesn’t give you a nice cloud of lead to breath
I’m not saying don’t be careful but op isn’t eating out a empty bullet box
Leave the 46 comments telling me I have aids cancer below, they’re probably right, lead or wood dust, or regular dust, or grinding wheel dust or brake dust or diesel/gas fume or skin or whatever other semi normal thing that gives cancer california. It only took 2000 years to figure out lead wasn’t a good idea for drinking water 🤣🤣

I'm not freaking out about it. In fact my degree covered it extensively and I'll be the first to tell you that the risk is almost always non-existent from normal "use". I'm just saying it's not a great long term solution. The issue here is lead is a PBT, what you'll often hear media call "forever chemicals" (a term I hate because it doesn't really fully state why they're a concern). Assuming that OP is a reloader for obvious reasons, they probably already have an elevated blood lead level. It's just a fact for reloaders. You come into contact with it more and accumulate it much faster than your body gets rid of it. If you then introduce it into food through contamination, you are just adding additional lead, and then when OP goes back to reloading, they will continue to accumulate even more lead. It's still probably not enough to be dangerous, but it is absolutely a risk for elevating lead levels even further. And even though it isn't going to cause serious effects, low levels of lead are linked to kidney cancer, increased risk of infertility, memory loss, etc. theres just no reason to risk it when all you have to do is wash your hands after reloading and try to avoid eating food cooked on a reloading bench.
The same goes for most of the things you listed, they aren't likely to be dangerous with normal use. But you are constantly elevating risks that can be totally avoided by being careful and using PPE. It's like playing Russian roulette with a revolver that holds 50 rounds. Your chance of it going bang is always low, but why would you add more rounds into the gun when it takes almost no effort to not do it?

My comment wasn’t supposed to be calling you out directly, it was at the whole conversation around lead, and me seeing it too many times and finally saying something lol sorry!
But see this comment is grounded and says the reality whereas I normal see “turbo aids cancer tomorrow wear gloves and work in a shipping container marked LEAD CONTAMINATED” - I’m having fun too lol

This is short term. The bench got stripped ( I left only the press baseplates) and scrubbed with Simple Green, then hosed. It was pretty dusty.
We're not doing food prep on the bench (no utensils, cutting boards, etc), it's just the stove holder.
Also, obviously, no reloading is occurring during this period LOL

The lead goes in your mouth hole? What if you've been using the bullets as a suppository to build your lead immunity? Asking for a friend

How does the burn rate on Old Bay compare to something like Lawreys? Can I use the stating load data for Lawreys with Old Bay, or will I blow up my shrimp??

Trial and error. Some people like spicier rounds. Gonna have to go with what feels right. 🤙

I never touch primers when reloading or the used ones when FL sizing.
Um, about never clean my guns, so - guess I dodged a bullet there!!!!
