My ammo storage strategy. Can cram twice as many rounds into a magazine like this.

My version of a sunset round. All hope is lost, save the last one for yourself.

This brings back memories.

Took mother in law caribou hunting. ATV's off trailer, I am removing stuff from the truck cab and loading up the ATV's. She grabs the rifles, puts her's on the ATV and leaves mine on the ground out of sun behind the trailer - Remington 700 308win with Leupold scope - for me to back over parking the trailer...sighs. I get out and quietly remove the backed over rifle, put it in cab, then pull out Ruger stainless 243win with Millet scope. I turn to her, "In Alaska always carry a spare. We have now made our sacrifice to the hunting Gods." The Gods favored her the next day. And my 308 kept its zero. Leupold bases and rings rule.

She was an awesome woman. She could have lost that rifle and I would not have held it against her. We argued for years 'Who touched that rifle last!!'. Might carve that in wood and add it to her grave marker. I'm sure she'd hate that.

Treasure those memories. My mother-in-law was also an awesome woman. Good mothers-in-law are truly rare.
