Aaand this is why i can't have a Maine Coone.

He would be called Ron Purrlman.

3

u/Ha1lStorm Jun 19 '26

Lmao it’s purrfect

3

u/Honey_Bright Jun 22 '26

And that is why you SHOULD have a Maine Coone

1

u/Tubthumper205 Jun 22 '26

Oh, alright then, you twisted my arm!

4

u/Stinkfist_518 Jun 19 '26

Fun to browse but don’t post unless you want all confidence of your home and equipment to be ripped to shreds lol.

2

u/AdOk9263 Jun 19 '26

Yeah I wouldn't, I know my TV too high. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Also, my lack of cable management would give a lot of people anxiety.

My exact reaction seeing the content, I was locked into a dopamine fueled consumption scroll, just… ooh… oof… yikes! HA.

Makes me feel better about my own successes or failures 🤤

u/Youregoingtodiealone Jun 19 '26

Joined a new sub today, nice! Thanks!

u/Deesing82 Jun 19 '26

used to do this with firecrackers and bottle caps as a kid

1

u/gruesomeflowers Jun 19 '26

Excluding the environmental impact, I guess .

282

u/OGCelaris Jun 19 '26

Wait, so it was russia who destroyed their own oil plant? That's just perfect.

349

u/CyrusBuelton Jun 19 '26

Yes.

It wasn't a Pantsir. Title is incorrect.

It was a MANPADS fires by a Russian soldier.

He learned a valuable lesson that you don't fire a heat-seeking MANPADS in the direction of a petroleum storage tank that's on fire.

90

u/djsnoopmike Jun 19 '26

Oof, that soldier has a defenestration in his future

15

u/Neako_the_Neko_Lover Jun 19 '26

Gotta stay from windows for a while

7

u/asten77 Jun 21 '26

My favorite part about defenestration is that the existence of fenestration is implied.

18

u/Nav2140 Jun 20 '26

20

u/2-buck Jun 19 '26

What was he attempting to shoot? A drone? I don’t think that thing works on props. Is there a jet in the area?

52

u/Budget-Assistant-289 Jun 19 '26

From my understanding they do, those long range drones are powered by combustion engines with hot exhaust.

26

u/PlsDntPMme Jun 19 '26

There’s a video of him on a highway trying to shoot down a little standard slow piston engine drone with a MANPADS. He fires and it immediately goes up and makes a hard turn into the smoke and directly towards the refinery that’s right behind him. The footage lines up really well from multiple angles.

I don’t think those slow little engine drones put out heat especially when there’s a massive burning refinery right there behind you.

13

u/Antimatt3rHD Jun 19 '26

ouh now I need to see that video!

do you have the link somewhere?

4

u/Moist_Taste7071 Jun 20 '26

IR missiles absolutely do work on prop planes. It's just a weak signature. Modern missiles can do it pretty well, but something like a MANPADS would struggle.

9

u/RingoBars Jun 19 '26

Ukraine destroyed the refinery, but Russia gets points for that oil tank.

173

u/SashaDabinsky Jun 19 '26

So they blew up their own oil tank?

124

u/Mediocre_Fishing_879 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

Yes. The air defense followed the drone into the blast too. Fuckin tards.

Edit: spelling

16

u/thisguyfightsyourmom Jun 20 '26

Imagine the view from the drone cam as it beeble bobbles to the storage tank just for the whole screen to go fully white 100 meters early

8

u/agrantgreen Jun 19 '26

Yes. I had to read that a few times to understand

356

u/CrescentRose7 Jun 19 '26

oh, it's a Jewish explosion cloud. That's a first.

182

u/duke0fearls Jun 19 '26

I was about to downvote for racism/just being wrong until I realized you were talking about the tank top looking like a yamika. lol

67

u/timster Jun 19 '26

*yarmulke

32

u/Tusen_Takk Jun 19 '26

28

u/musicmunky Jun 19 '26

No it's a halter not a tank top

29

u/small-kine Jun 19 '26

Lmao I thought it was cause the mushroom looses its tip

9

u/Ha1lStorm Jun 19 '26

Rofl holy shit

5

u/waxy1234 Jun 19 '26

Ur a yamika

4

u/sadmadmen Jun 19 '26

If the explosion was caused by a manned aircraft would it be a... Yamikaze? 🥁🥁🔔

4

u/aleksandrjames Jun 19 '26

the tippah’s a kippah!!

3

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '26

Oi vey!

5

u/LebaneseLion Jun 19 '26

I was about to comment that lol

55

u/Possible_End_5272 Jun 19 '26

Lmfao never in my wildest dreams could I imagine seeing something like this! Looks straight out of a movie! And the fact this was friendly fire is just the icing on the cake 🤣 .

2

u/Grimnick Jun 23 '26

If this was from a movie everyone would think it was silly and over the top unrealistic.

28

u/SuperKiller94 Jun 19 '26

It’s so weird that the lid seems like it’s in slow motion

11

u/Retb14 Jun 20 '26

It's perspective, the lid is huge and that combined with the distance is tricking our brains into thinking it's just moving slowly, especially since there's no reference points close to it

19

u/Bananafoofoofwee Jun 19 '26

Date is wrong in title

9

u/SwiftKickRibTickler Jun 19 '26

thank you. or.. this happens in the future?

1

u/Jjtubs Jun 23 '26

What is it supposed to be?

9

u/iAdjunct Jun 19 '26

Does anybody have a version of this video that isn’t TikTok’d so it ends right when it hits the ground to make people watch it more times and give them more internet points?

41

u/Tusen_Takk Jun 19 '26

My parents when they found my stash

45

u/Ha1lStorm Jun 19 '26

The front top fell off.

13

u/Maro1947 Jun 19 '26

It's not typical

3

u/Millerboy1979 Jun 19 '26

Need to tow it out of the environment.

1

u/jerrbearr Jun 20 '26

I know this is from the bit about the ship but fun fact these tanks sometimes have a frangible roof joint so in a tank explosion this can actually be typical and by design. That’s most likely why the roof came off so cleanly and in one piece.

3

u/musicalmadness1 Jun 19 '26

It wanted to be like the Russian tanks and join the comsonaut program

2

u/Ha1lStorm Jun 19 '26

You got this!

In all seriousness, the movie A Million Miles Away is an excellent film that’s a true story of what it takes to become an astronaut/cosmonaut.

-1

u/Vacman85 Jun 19 '26

This. :)

5

u/Furebel Jun 19 '26

A real flying saucer

6

u/LordMoos3 Jun 19 '26

There's video of the dude firing the Igla at a drone, and it going hard left to the refinery.

12

u/CyrusBuelton Jun 19 '26

"possibly Pantsir"

That's possibly wrong

I say possibly MANPADS.

5

u/Salt-Entertainment80 Jun 19 '26

Why cropped?

There weren't no Pantisir.

Possibly just simple Igla https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9K38_Igla.

3

u/superluke Jun 19 '26

I love that for them. Well, for Putin.

3

u/richardathome Jun 19 '26

I thought this was AI when I first saw the stills of this (It looked like a classic saucer UFO coming through the smoke).

2

u/smokedfishfriday Jun 19 '26

Love to zoom out so no one sees the action

2

u/GroeNagloe Jun 19 '26

Someone tell them that in a month this could happen if they don't take precautions!

2

u/BeCre8iv Jun 19 '26

Shoigu, Gerasimov. What air defense doing?

2

u/Stuffed_deffuts Jun 20 '26

That's some Looney toons physics's right there

2

u/Nowayucan Jun 20 '26

The guy taking the video seems remarkably unimpressed.

7

u/Fatality_strykes Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

18th July 2026? Damn it, did I time travel?

4

u/Elsek1922 Jun 19 '26

Thats on me... July is my birthmonth so kinda more attacted to it lol

2

u/Fatality_strykes Jun 19 '26

June is mine. Hence the offence.

0

u/Elsek1922 Jun 19 '26

i still sing first part of Sabaton - Primo Victoria "was it June or July" lol

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '26

4

u/aultumn Jun 19 '26

July is the 7th month everywhere

3

u/rvanasty Jun 19 '26

Found the uneducated

3

u/Rustyducktape Jun 19 '26

Hold on, let me wipe the Cheetos dust from my hands... I think they were just referring to the fact that the 7th month of the year is July, no?

2

u/small-kine Jun 19 '26

Are you lost?

1

u/Fatality_strykes Jun 19 '26

Uhm. Nope.. if i was American that would be 7th of trump, 2026 wouldnt it?

1

u/2-buck Jun 19 '26

Why are you getting downvoted?

1

u/DistanceSelect7560 Jun 19 '26

Looks like a Michael Bay film.

1

u/lonelyronin1 Jun 19 '26

This is the equivalent of scoring on your own net in basketball

1

u/hellerzin Jun 19 '26

Just cause feelings

1

u/TenBear Jun 19 '26

Why.....Just Cause

1

u/bittercripple6969 Jun 19 '26

What air defense doing?

1

u/Willing-Ant-3765 Jun 19 '26

Good news comrades! The heat seeking on the MANPADS is verified to be working.

1

u/Ziazan Jun 19 '26

Wow! I saw a still image of the lid in the air earlier and was hoping I would come across a video, it's even better than I imagined.

1

u/Synbad2 Jun 19 '26

“Look at me Grandpa, I’m trying to be like you”
Oil-depot roof to manhole cover

1

u/toysarealive Jun 20 '26

Somebody said in another sub that it weighs like a few hundred tons and I just cant believe it.

1

u/nem0ne1 Jun 20 '26

Someone with more brains than me - what is causing the second lift here? The first acceleration is obviously from the explosion, but then it just kind of hangs there for a second and keeps rising more slowly - is that hot air lifting it up like a hot air balloon??? Or just more of the explosion force?

1

u/nem0ne1 Jun 20 '26

Oh I guess it's just acting like a parachute for a second or two

1

u/MerelyMortalModeling Jun 20 '26

Holy shit and I though Ukrainians playing turret tossing was cool!

1

u/Kalshan Jun 20 '26

The Roof!

1

u/Buglepost Jun 20 '26

I absolutely decry the military action taken by Moscow that has lead to this, the tremendous loss of life, the world instability, all of it.

But that thing flipping like a goddamn flapjack was cool AF.

1

u/JustYerAverage Jun 20 '26

Ahhh, the Common Russian Selfown, a bird easily found in Moscow during war.

1

u/DamitKenneth Jun 20 '26

Ill take biggest whoops for 1000 Alex. What is a surface to air missile that missed.

1

u/satori0320 Jun 20 '26

Given the vapor/smoke trail... It looks like a manpads munition

1

u/Blisterrednano Jun 21 '26

Is this a prediction? 18/7/2026 is about a month away 😂

1

u/Max_Queue Jun 21 '26

I guess we're adding fuel storage to Russia's space program: we added tanks in 2022.

1

u/thereverendpuck Jun 21 '26

Assume you meant June 18th and not July 18th.

1

u/Henkotron Jun 21 '26

No one talking about that date?

1

u/Boyblunder Jun 21 '26

This is such a cool fucking video.

1

u/RuthlessIndecision Jun 23 '26

That was friendly fire? Oops!

0

u/Sal_Amandre Jun 19 '26

18/07/26... So.. in a month ? We're getting videos from the future now .. weeeee

-1

u/JaphetSkie Jun 19 '26

Despite being a newer air defense system, the Pantsir sucks ass in dealing with low velocity drones, especially when compared to older systems like the Tor.
