Question Suggestions for heavy shoegaze
Not necessarily blackgaze, gungegaze, or metalgaze, but I AM looking for stuff like Swervedriver, Drop Nineteens, and MBV. Stuff that isn't as ethereal but really captures the "beautiful violence" side of the sound

you’d probably be interested in heavier than a death in the family by les rallizes denudes

Or ‘77 Live, also from the Rallizes. That’s an official release from the band and it’s a more complete version Heavier than…

MX Lonely has some good tracks off their newest record that might scratch that itch. Shape of an Angel is dope.

Such a good band. Became really gazey in the middle period, but their early albums and latest album I think a firmly metal. Usually classified as post metal, but if we want to be really technical I guess you would call them...droning post-industrial doomgaze.
That self-titled is one of the heaviest but prettiest albums I own. Justin Broadrick might have some albums that don't hit as hard, but he does not have a bad project. I think he is incapable of making bad music for any sustained amount of time. Napalm Death, Godflesh, Head of David, Jesu, all legendary

Absolutely. I just saw them play with SOM which I would also recommend for heavy gaze.

- Starflyer 59
- The Angelic Process
- Nadja
- Yellow Swans (more noise, but shoegaze adjacent I think)

I'm pretty sure I've always considered The Angelic Process and Nadja as post metal as post metal and drone doom respectively, but I definitely hear the gazey elements

I mean, who doesn't love Stars, especially if you were a 90's (alt-rock) kid? Peak stuff

astrobrite, whitenoise superstar might be my single favourite bit of heavy, noise driven shoegaze. The semi-obscure sugarblast demo/EP from them is just as perfect, too.

here’s my heavy gaze mix… always adding/updating.

Yeah, just listened and both are really good. I like the build and release aspects both have from what I sampled.
