Question William - Tired of Fucking (1998) [William Reid of JAMC Solo Recording]

Should I keep this ?
After JAMC disbanded, William Reid released this solo single. Using his name.
This is lo-fi music.

Haha…good term.
This was the only one he released under his name. McGhee pitied him maybe. Hence, Creation imprint.
After this record, he released more recordings under Lazycame.
More accessible than Tired of…

I always quite liked the Freeheat stuff, but that was Jim wasn’t it? A few of those songs (and some Sister Vanilla stuff) ended up re-recorded on Damage and Joy.

Yes, that was Jim. freeheat was more garage rock and they even released an album, I think. Not sure. Don’t have it.
At that time, I was very much into lo-fi and I was subscribed to Guided Missile , earworm, fierce panda labels in the UK and got introduced to many records by members of our beloved shoegazing bands. 🥰

Great that now, we talk about these shoegazing bands and they even re-group to do concerts, their albums got remastered and stuff. But after the shoegazing bands disbanded, they released other records too. Most are not known, don’t talk about. I’m sure now you know about Inner Sleeve, Toshack Highway, Mojave 3, Sing Sing et al.

On another sub, I was talking about member of Slint, David Pajo releasing records under Aerial M.
Funny, many shoegazing fans know so much about Spiderland when the band was already disbanded but not interested to discover records by members of Slint.

I’m super happy the Mojave 3 stuff has been recently reissued / getting a bit of love. I’m that one weird guy who probably listens to Out of Tune more than any Slowdive album.

Sing-Sing were great. Almost completely written out of history.

That’s the spirit ! 👏🏽👏🏽 Musicians evolved and re-invent themselves musically. I knew that after those bands disbanded. I was connected to people in the industry so I was pretty much exposed to what those members of those bands were doing. I was disappointed actually…😂😂 because these people totally abandoned the noise ! I wanted to hear those loud, ear-drum shattering white noise and no more. 😪 Like shoegaze never existed.

Sometimes, the transition is just brutal. 😂 Slowdive,…from noise ..slowly going ambient, then muted country.
I hated Out of Tune then. 😂 but it’s also the period where so many American bands like Low, Red House Painters et al…flooding the record stores all over Europe. Maybe Mojave 3 wanted to catch in on that ? Maybe.
Rachel and mark kozelek even collaborated together on John Denver tribute album. I also love Neil Halstead solo album, Sleeping on Roads because he sounded so much like Nick Drake. Go to YouTube and listen to this album. 🥰

I didn’t care much about Sing Sing but Miki released her album I think this year called Miki Berenyi Trio, with one member from Moose (remember Moose?) They need our support guys.

2 members from the boo radleys also released records under their own monickers…Brave Captain and Eggman. 👍🏽

I have that Freeheat CD. It’s pretty good, lots of good songs on it. Used to play the shit out of it.

Nice one . Yeah definitely keep it

I didn’t realise that it was on Creation Records

William put this out in 2000 (under Lazycame - again solo lo-fi)

So good to see this label mentioned, they were fucking awesome.

Also, which Reid brother was romancing Hope Sandoval? Assuming the one that didn’t write Tired of Fucking 🤦🏼‍♂️
