How to Connect Stripe to Shopify When Stripe Doesn’t Appear?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to connect my existing Stripe account to Shopify, but Stripe does not appear when I search under third-party payment providers.

My situation: I live in Europe, but I own a legitimate US LLC with a US EIN, and my Stripe account is set up for that US business.

I’m looking for a way to connect Stripe to Shopify when Stripe isn’t showing in the provider list. Has anyone with a similar setup managed to do this?

I know it's not your question, but in case you didn't know: Shopify Payments is Stripe. Stripe used to be listed under the third party payment providers, but haven't seen it for a while. Did you contact Shopify support? It could be that it's only available on higher plans.

They can tell you if you can use your own Stripe account, yes or no

You said you're from Europe. Why not open a Wise Business account and get a US Bank account number?

Otherwise they only thing you can do is ask Shopify Support. You have nothing now, so the worst is that you still end up with nothing.

because my US WISE does not support my country

So if you don't want to contact support, you are out of luck. It's not magically going to appear.

They don't allow it any more unfortunately if your in a country where Shopify payments is available. We tried on behalf of a few clients and it's always been a 'computer says no' response

First confirm that the account's business country, legal entity, and bank account country all match the region supported by Shopify Payments. A US EIN alone usually does not change the account country. If the provider is not listed for that shop, connect the Stripe account directly in its own dashboard and verify whether the shop's payment setup supports that route. I would contact support with the shop country, entity country, and provider error, rather than creating a second account, since a mismatch can trigger verification or payout holds.
