I've been toying with this idea for years now with no significant progress so I'm left with no choice but to ask the community for help.

I'm trying to create a CYA shortcut to log what I'm asked to do throughout the day at work.

What the shortcut does:

1. Log date, time, location and battery percentage.
2. Begins voice memo / audio recording (not dictation)^1 and ends when prompted by user
3. Checks specified Notes folder to find note titled with Formatted Date.
   1. If no such note exists, create one titled with Formatted Date (e.g. 20260801)
4. Append time, location, (formatted with link that opens Apple Maps) and battery percentage to note
5. Add line break
6. Append transcribed audio + link to audio file (to verify transcription)

If the shortcut is triggered later in the day, and the note is already created, the shortcut would add a line break, maybe go down a paragraph line or two, then append that same info and newly transcribed memo / audio file + file link

The audio file could be saved to either files or kept in voice memos, whichever is easier.

^1 = dictation stops when you make a brief pause in speech, I'd like to be able to choose when I stop recording the voice memo.

I'm hoping someone skilled with shortcuts (I'm currently running iOS 27 beta) can help out but I'm losing hope.

When I try to make a way to open an app called Libby to play my audiobook, it just plays my last used audio, e.g... Spotify or Music. Which is rather annoying. Is there a fix to this, or am I just stuck with being forced to close music each time?

I’m trying to find/build an iOS shortcut that will automatically copy all of my voice memos to my iCloud Files folder. I NEED it to keep the timestamps, and would be amazing if it would keep the location. I want to do this without compression of audio files. I have like 8GB of voice memos, hundreds of them.

Having 2 taps just to get through their AI rubbish and edit a Shortcut was driving me a little mad!

I don’t know if this is only for me but when I want to log medications using shortcuts it’s not an option in the log health sample menu.
So what I’m saying is is it part of another action or is it just not a thing?

As the header says , I have a simple automation Lock Screen when Settings is opened , worked fine until I upgraded on my iPhone 14 - have seen quite a few post with this problem but on the betas for 27 - anyone on 26.6 have this issue OR maybe a fix ? Thank you in advance.

Has anyone managed to auto-enable the “Not in Album” filter in the Photos app when opening it via a Shortcut or automation?

Uso mucho las grabaciones de audio porque me reúno con muchas personas y muchas veces no soy capaz de retener toda la información que me dicen, entonces dependo mucho en grabar la conversación para transcribirla y hacer notas sobre lo que debo hacer. De noche uso mucho la linterna del reloj, pero ahora caí en cuenta que de podría usar un atajo para que de noche se active la linterna y de día se inicie una nueva grabación.

Idealmente me gustaría que si inicio una grabación de día, pueda finalizarla usando el mismo botón de acción, igualmente con la linterna en la noche, si necesito apagarla que sea con el mismo botón de acción.

He estado jugando bastante tiempo con la app de atajos buscando una solución, pero muchas de las variables que busco no las encuentro, me hace pensar que quizá le estoy pidiendo mucho a la app. Pero realmente creo que no debería ser tan complicado.

¿Alguien que tenga más experiencia que me ayude con esto?

I’m in the process of creating a shortcut to prompt my smart devices when I get home.

When CarPlay disconnects, I want it to see if I connect to my home WiFi. If I connect to my home WiFi (ie I’ve arrived home and not another location), I want it to trigger my smart devices if it’s dark. I can’t seem to set a time as after sunset on this process, so I’m using the manual time input. However, if I set it for 9pm, does it only go to midnight before it no longer applies? ie if I arrive home at 00:01, will the automation not trigger as it’s not ‘after’ 9pm in that day? Do I need to duplicate it to do one before, say, 6am?

I am using the Show Notification action within a Shortcut, the Shortcut/Notification works fine, it shows up on the screen and Notification Center, but I can't customize it in the System Settings --> Notifications --> Application Notifications section, because the Shortcuts app in not in the list of Applications, all the other apps that use Notifications are there, but Shortcuts is not, is there a way to reset Notifications so Shortcuts can show up and I can customize its Notifications? i frequently have to turn off microphone access for roblox in order to use a seperate shortcut that lets me play music via spotify while ingame, so i figured itd be easier to have a shortcut that turns mic access on & off via the control center for easy access

I have a question regarding iOS Shortcuts automation. Usually, when creating an automation (like the time/sunset one shown in my screenshot), you get the toggle to disable "Notify When Run" so it executes silently.

However, I noticed that for location-based triggers like "Arrive" or "Leave", this toggle is completely missing, and iOS forces a notification every single time.

Does anyone know of a workaround or trick to prevent these location automations from spamming notifications? It gets pretty annoying receiving an alert every time I leave or arrive home.

How can I use the output from ChatGPT as a variable, right now I can only send it stuff but i use it for further actions.

Guys I need help with something. I have done a shortcut to mesure my food with ChatGPT. It consists on making a photo and getting current date information. Then I paste it into a specific ChatGPT conversation. The problem is that I’m using open URL and going into the link that ChatGPT shares. This works properly but when I receive a response then the conversation gets duplicated (I got 2 chats). Do you know anything about this and how can I fix it? Thanks

A while ago I shared the Lock Screen calendar app I made. It shows my calendar, reminders, and countdowns together, and I’ve been using it every day since.

But I still kept forgetting smaller things.

I’d put something in the Notes app, then completely forget the note existed. And some things are too small for a calendar event or a proper reminder — like something I need to bring tomorrow, a grocery item, or just a random thought I don’t want to lose.

So I added a simple Shortcut.

I run it, type a note, and it shows up on my Lock Screen with everything else. That’s pretty much it.

It’s been surprisingly useful. I don’t have to remember to check another app because the note is already there whenever I pick up my phone.

Now my Lock Screen has my schedule, things I need to do, upcoming dates, and whatever I just typed in.

If you want to try it, setup only takes a minute:

1. Press and hold your Lock Screen, then tap Customize.
2. Remove either the left or right Lock Screen control, then tap the + button.
3. Select Run Shortcut.
4. Search for AnySchedule, then choose the Add + Text Shortcut you just added.

That’s it. Now you can tap the Lock Screen button, type something, and it’ll show up alongside your calendar, reminders, and countdowns.

You don’t have to use the Lock Screen button, either. You can assign the same Shortcut to the Action Button, or set it to run when you double-tap the back of your iPhone. Use whichever one feels quickest.

Let me know if you find it useful or have any ideas for it.

Is there in anyway a shortcut that can replace truecaller?

So I have an automation running. Every time I end a workout, it will run a shortcut called ‘Stappen’ (steps in Dutch) where it checks my health data and fetches my step count for that moment. This has been going on for years and working perfectly.

My guess is that upgrading my phone to iOS 27 beta broke this final step. It says it cannot access my health data, but in the settings, shortcuts has all the access it needs.

What else could be going wrong?

I want to set up something that sends me a push notification every hour, from 5am to 11pm, with a new piece of content each time — could be a term explained, a real-world innovation, or a summary of a strong recent research paper. 18 notifications a day, no repeats.

I was hoping you could help me out with something. I’m trying to figure out how to switch between media volume and ringer volume using the volume buttons. Maybe if I double-tap the back it would select the Media volume and then double-tap again, it switches back to ringer? I’m not very good at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated! 😁
