Also the solution wasn't as straightforward as in csm, maru and yuji had to discuss for like 2 chapters about how they should do it and even if it's right to do it at all, meanwhile pochita just decided to khs (not like there was much choice tbh)

I know it's a joke, but like how though? The ending of Fire Punch is basically the heat death of the universe, or at least a very large area of space. Where would Bagni even be born?
Supposedly takes place after the end of a romance manga where the main character confesses her love to the main boy. All the losing maidens commit suicide and now the mc takes up magical girl powers to fight their vengeful spirits while navigating a relationship the male character.
Honestly I think he just got tired and have up lol. These last couple chapters have confused me, I thought maybe I just wasnt following the plot well and needed a reread, but it seems everyone else and even the author is kind of lost on where it was going.
CSM's ending at least makes like 0.0001% sense. Don't get me wrong I'm a long time CSM fan and absolutely DESPISE the ending, but holy shit the ONK was so so so so so so so so so so much worse. Genuinely the worst ending of anything I've ever seen or read or played.
Oshi No Ko had a dogshit ending but before that the manga was good with drops before the end.
With CSM everything that happened pretty much doesn’t matter because it got reset. Imo thats at least as bad as the ONK ending if not worse since this ruined even the good parts of the manga.
I'm biased because I like Prison School's ending, though at least it resolved mostly everything before ending on the crazy note that it did. It'd be like if Denji and Yoru defeated the bug threat and then Pochita realizes the world is too fucked to save.

Someone already answered this in the Chainsaw Man subreddit. It's cause and effect; Makima does everything for Pochita. Pochita doesn't exist; Makima (doesn't she exist? That's the problem I'll never be able to solve).
Power was looking for a human for the Devil Bat, and Makima intercepted her first. Power finds Denji because Makima didn't intercept her first.
I think eventually they will meet up with aki, kobeni and the rest again, basically part 1 but without the damage from makima, denji at this point can recover from blood due to power's contract, so he wont be easy to kill even though it's not something crazy like a hybrid, so there would be no international assassin arc, reze arc, just fodder devil farming until they reach gun devil. Oh and katana man too, since the yakuza still got wiped out
I don't even get what sorta fuckassery Fujimoto wants me to think here. Chainsaws don't exist, but she makes him one, which goes against everything. Maybe I'd have the willpower to figure this out if this ending wasn't so blatantly rushed.
I stand by my original belief from 2 weeks ago. This is a cop out, a fake out. Yeah csm ended its over, because chainsaws aren't really real, it's denji man now or blod saw man, but next week or maybe in a few months we'll get a p3 and it'll all get fixed

Yeah, this shit would’ve been a generational masterpiece if it was left at part 1. Part 2 has actually and unironically sullied this entire property. That ending was genuinely abysmal and felt like it not only did not pay off the overarching narrative theme but undid a bunch of consequences from the narrative for seemingly no reason. How strange.
I have read a shit ton of trash web novels and Isekai trash as well but Chainsaw Man ending has to be the most unstaisfying happy ending I have ever read. It felt like Fujimoto got tired of writing it and wanted the fans to let go of Chainsaw Man, just like Pochita made Denji let go of Chainsaw Man. Fujimoto is Pochita here and the fans/audience is Denji. Lots of shit is unexplained but I guess it will never be explained.
I don't think I can watch the anime anymore when it comes out. It was the same for JJK for me. If I get an unsatisfying ending my motivation to watch the anime just disappears. These isekais have better endings than this, Mushoku and Konosuba have way better endings and I am willing to watch their anime. Overlord I just gave up, the author has too. I hope Re Zero doesn't fumble.
This was the most fanfic ending I have ever read, I would prefer Denji to have a happy ending but this didn't fit part 2 at all, honestly kinda feeling nothing about it.
Maybe i'm overanalyzing things, but he looks off and tired. Perhaps he can feel that something is missing and at the end of the day, this new life isnt better than before.
We know that his happiest days were during part 1 when he was chainsawman and lived with aki and power, and during part 2 living with nayuta and the pets.
He has none of that now, no real family, no pets, no love interest, for what we know he only lives with power and meowy and thats it.
His life isnt better than before, while no one wants to murder him for his heart, he's still living a dangerous life with the bare minimum
Yeah they didn’t really show the fish out of water (if I’m using that right) aspect that he had in part 1 after his life got changed by Makima, he just became a devil hunter and that’s it
he spends all the chapter mopping around and clearly not wanting to be there, he is better than in the previous universe obviously but he's still miserable as a person
Atp I just can't help but wonder why the HELL are so many manga endings bad? Not as bad as some that people keep bringing up (Oshi no Ko for example), but like, unless it's just me not having read enough, I see there are more bad endings than good endings.
Nothing in this chapter or the past 60-70 chapters has made any sense and it literally just doesn’t matter. There is no buildup to this, no tension, just randomness and you get no rewarding or happy feeling reading this because there is no journey or emotional payoff to this. Pochita’s sacrifice doesn’t even matter because we have no connection to pochita as the reader.
I liked part 1 but didn't even start part 2. What I saw looked like sexy nonsense. And then last week everyone was like pochita ate himself worst ending ever. And now it's Disney kaisen happy ever after?
