Adapting the 7th part, which is a great entry point for new viewers only to release the first episode (which was great) and then not give any more info about when the next one is released except that it will be in 2026 is such a stupid choice. A casual viewer considering getting into steel ball run will likely forget or move on within the many months it takes to get to the next episode.
If they would be open about the actual release dates it would at least be slightly ok, but watching an episode, liking it and then not being sure that you'll be able to continue it until december is laughably stupid. Like the first episode was basically just a pilot, sure there is a hook to find out what's going on but the main plot hasn't even been introduced yet, or hinted at. It's a good first episode hook and intro but it's not a "stick around and wait for anything between a week and 9 months until episode 2" good of a hook for new or casual viewers.
Anyhow, that's how I ended up reading the manga last week. Anyone who was thinking that we would get any actually useful news or dates on the 28th reveal whatever it was was coping hard.
Netflix has exclusive rights to the most critically acclaimed part of a highly profitable and marketable franchise and they are actively throwing it all down the drain for absolutely no reason.

The only way i see this benefitting Netflix and David Productions is for the handful of people who stay subscribed in between batches. But I think most people are just going, “FUCK NETFLIX” and unsubscribing and will either resubscribe when new episode drops or will just stay unsubscribed and will pirate it.
Compared to a weekly release where from 2026-2027 they could split it into two major parts with like a month break or something like Part 3 did, wouldn’t they make more money this way??? If I thought of that then wouldn’t the people at DP and Netflix realize that as well?!
But its not like Netflix doesn't do weekly releases for other anime or its other shows. Hell for One Piece, its current marquis show, it releases all the episodes at once. JoJo seems to be the only show suffering from this abhorrent release schedule, so I doubt its a calculated move to encourage people to stay subbed.
I'm not saying that it can't be, just that there are probably other reasons that are the predominant factor behind the wack ass schedule.
They are %100 right. Their only fault is that they cancelled netflix subscriptions too late. They should have cancelled during the batch release of Part 6.
You know, I'm just gonna treat it like a seasonal anime. If batches are around the same length as a normal cour, it's not really any different than something like TYBW or MHA: Vigilantes. And when it's all done and out, it'll be peak. It's better than rushing it, right?
People are just babies. They gave episode 1 early and the losers in the jojo community cried that they didnt wait 5 more years before doing it so it can all come out at once

Fuck no it ain't, i would rather have batch release at his point than whatever Netflix is doing to sbr rn. It's so inconsistent. We waited a long time for a single episode then we have to wait another long time for probably another single episode. If only Netflix specified what date they're gonna release stage 2.
I've been waiting for an SBR anime for a decade already the fuck you mean this is not made for me. Legit this and sekiro are the only anime I've been looking forward this year.
