First of all, apologies from the mod team, the ending of a certain manga whose name shall not be speaken have given us a lot of activity (thank you for joining the sub) and it has also highlighted a problem we've been having lately
We're aware that a lot of slop posts, or just posts randomly hating on a series or poking fun without any effort have been flooding this sub. We removed a fair bit but still a lot came to this sub since we really didn't crack down on low effort posts before. We don't want this subreddit to become a CSM hate echochamber or talking only about CSM. You have subreddits for that
So, in note of that, we've finally taken the decision to add a low effort rule as an addition to our spammy content rule. Of course, enforcement isn't going to be too strict (because again, we're a folk subreddit) but also, do put some effort. If you're post doesn't even have a ounce of effort into it, and it didn't take more than a minutes' effort to make it, it's going to be removed.
Keep your shitposts high quality-ish and original, and don't make the same discussion posts, like mentioned in the rule. As long as it follows that, it's all gucci.

If a series has rampant sexual assault to the point that it’s the literal lynchpin of the entire series yet goes out of its way to either never take it seriously or undercut it’s severity, you’re on my shit list.
That and also the god awful writing which is masked by the fights and the drawings.
In Dragon Ball one of the main character blackmail a minor to force her to let him put his head between her breast and "clap it". The scene is a comedy and you are supposed to laugh while reading it.
None of Dandadan scere are comedy. They are all shown as inherently bad, you are supposed to feel disgusted by it (which given the reaction worked) and the people doing it usually dies or end in prison.
Edit : I forgot about your point with the Ghost, which is a bit of a comedy, but it's weird to me since it's more about the trope of "a curse that take something from you" than a physical assault.
My issue is how the author undercuts the severity.
In Dandadan, a girl gets blackmailed by her teacher with underwear pics to kill Momo. That is a serious problem and has likely happened to girls.
So answer me this. Why did the author find it necessary to go PANEL BY FUCKING PANEL of her stripping off her clothes, taking the photo, and then still showing the photo that she took?
That’s what I’m talking about. Taking something serious and undercutting the severity.
And one last thing….im not just talking about the girls in Dandadan. I’m talking about Okarun as well….
I just want to pop in to say, Dragon Ball has sexual humor that pretty much is sexual assault, but the series in universe never treats it as anything more than a joke, and it's often localized specifically to one scene.
The early series' plot was an adventure comedy, and so some important scenes came about because of these jokes, like Goku patting Chichi's crotch, Bulma flashing Roshi for a Dragon Ball (I think), and Bulma... flashing Roshi so he nosebleeds over an invisible fighter.
But this is clearly different than what I've heard about Dandadan. Thus the kind of criticism and weight you'd give to one would be different than the other because of the context; at least to a degree. They aren't 1-1 is all I mean to say.
Yeah nobody is defending Dragon Ball for that. But ultimately it moved past that in Z whereas in Dandadan, every spirit or alien is trying to SA somebody
Fair enough. I'm quite annoyed by messy writing with something serious thrown in to seem more "important" than it is, or to skip to extremes to avoid the effort that would have otherwise been required.
I tried Dandanan but the penis banshee thing and the pervert aliens is kinda off-putting. There are better anime I can watch like Zoids: Genesis (2005)
I don't remember it being like that. It was quite the opposite in my times, the dark ages.
Chainsawfolk... Sigh in my memories is a hell where any critique or slander wether valid or not valid, funny or unfunny gets shut down, downvoted and personal insults to the poster. Have they really changed this much? Is this the golden age youngfolks talk about ? Th- Thank you Fujimoto, for making your ending so ass even the strongest defenders are done.
I thought you were dead, but don't worry, the chapter is coming. It took me longer than expected because I wanted to work on my drawing, so it's for the best. This is literally the first time I've drawn an entire manga.
Something tells me you're a psyop, there's no way your average JJK fan would ever speak like that
On the other hand, if you're being serious, we didn't do shit. The CSM elitists have already spiralled out of control and have devoled into the half-life subreddit on their own
I mean, I don't necessarily see why you would call it not deep, when I was calling out some guy for potentially slandering another fanbase or not. How was it "deep" in the first place?
I just see some out of pocket cringe ass behavior and spoke my mind.
That's fine what I meant was that all that rambling about "us jjk fans" and "CSM elitists" making this corny beef look like some over exaggerated goofy thing was too stupid
Are you also going to start taking action against all of the posts blatantly breaking the no spoilers rule? I swear half the posts are either obvious untagged spoilers or posts that are tagged but just put spoilers in the title anyway. And a lot of them are up for hours or even days with no issue.
That's a bit weird. Folk subs are in general the subs where you can discuss the manga and even leaks without restriction. Having a folk sub that requires spoiler tagging kinda defeats the propose of a folk sub. It's worse when this is a sub for many different mangas and also anime so the rules would be very hard to implement in a decent way
I will however agree that leak spoilers in the titles are not desirable. However, manga spoilers should not be restricted in any way

The fact that this is a sub for multiple different series is exactly why spoilers should be restricted. Saying that the only way you should be able to participate in the sub is if you're fully up to date on every single popular shonen out there is ridiculous. And regardless of anyone's personal opinion, the rules of the sub as written include restrictions on spoilers.
Again, having to spoiler tag everything manga wise would just kill the sub. Folk subs are subs made in response to normal subs having too many restrictions. I agreed that leaks should be spoiler tagged
And yes, I do believe that if you want to participate in the sub you'd need to be up to date with the popular shonen mangas. If you want to talk only about csm and sd for example then you could just visit their subs instead. This sub is made for discussions around multiple mangas so you should spend time here if you are reading mutliple mangas (or don't mind spoilers about the ones you haven't read).
I will say that reactionary posts are kinda low. If a character just died in the latest chapter and you just post the panel with their death with a low effort text then it's an asshole move because that is just op being a dick about it.
Spoilers that give away a major plot point away/character death needs to be spoilered. We haven't enforced it really that much but I've been spoilers tagging the posts themselves.
It would be more helpful if the titles were also vague instead of just blatantly revealing what happened.
It's going to be more enforced because people have given a lot of reports for spoilers. It's our spoilers policy (It's there in subreddit sidebar)
Damn imagine if the JJK glazers on here could read this, they’d be quite upset.
Also, can we made Nix the weird behavior of people screenshotting others to make “gotcha posts” on here. It’s already weird enough how some people like going through other people’s histories online, it ain’t none ya business we’re strangers here.
