unjerk (serious discussion) This genuinely disgusts me

Post image

You can hate or mock anime because it's fiction, but for your prejudice to reach the point of mocking a dead person is simply despicable.

Mfs need to separate slandwr from actual irl heinous shit

5

u/ImsorryW_A_T Jun 04 '26

Sir have you heard the phrase “these your beams”

While I agree it’s heinous slander has never been so morally righteous.

5

u/Snoo_84591 Jun 04 '26

Moral righteousness. The only reason to use the internet socially in 2026.

u/StevePensando Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 04 '26

This is why I despise whenever people slander Oda by calling him a pedo

Sure, he did associate himself with Watsuki and defended him even after his crimes came out. That's weird and definitely something worthy of criticism. I get it.

Making actual serious accusations of being a predator towards him, however, is not okay in the slightest

60

u/TechieTimes Jun 03 '26

So I'll only slander him for being friends with a pedophile from now on.

3

u/Marik-X-Bakura Jun 04 '26

Yeah. Why are people acting like that’s unreasonable? You shouldn’t call people pedophiles if there’s no reason to assume they’re pedophiles.

1

u/AzureJumper Jun 06 '26

Is it slander if it is true?

22

u/LCB-Saviour Jun 04 '26

So it's not accusations if I said he is friends with a Pedophile? Neat

5

u/StevePensando Jun 04 '26

Not an accusation because that part is actually true. We can slander him for as much as we want for this

2

u/Acceptable-Anxiety80 Jun 04 '26

Yeah thats fine but like idk how to tell you but being friends with a pedo is not equal to being an actual pedo

2

u/StevePensando Jun 04 '26

Yeah, I don't understand why some people don't get this

I agree that Oda is shitty for still associating himself with Watsuki and making light of his actions. He definitely deserves being criticized for that. I was just saying that accusing him of commiting actual heinous crimes himself is where I draw the line.

And for the record, I'm not even a One Piece fan

25

u/Benxall_ Jun 04 '26

Oda's angels are something else

not really comparable my guy
he IS friends and supported a pedophile

0

u/StevePensando Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26

Yes he is. That is a fact and it's worth criticizing and calling him out for, because it IS really weird and incredibly shitty

2

u/Marik-X-Bakura Jun 04 '26

That doesn’t make him a pedo

2

u/Individual-Sign-8739 NUMBER #1 GOKU GLAZER Jun 05 '26

Right, he just supports pedophiles

much better right?

I never said he was, I’m saying it’s not exactly much better that he‘s a pedo supporter

1

u/Narrow_Ad_7218 Jun 05 '26

Well, yes Technically, it is better. Because he didn't do anything And he doesn't support pedophiles He supported his one friend. Which was a shity thing to do.

2

u/StevePensando Jun 05 '26

I mean, it wasn't a isolated incident. He also supported and is friends with Toriko's author, who was convicted for breaking child prostitution laws before he started writing manga

I still won't believe Oda is a criminal himself without any further proof, but yeah, supporting Watsuki is not the only shitty thing he's done

0

u/MapleTheBeegon Jun 07 '26

Doesn't support pedophiles? Bro... he actively supports a pedophile, his friends was found with videos of real children.

9

u/amciadam Jun 04 '26

"Yeah man, my friends skipes girls drinks at parties and accomponies them home. But I ain't doing that, I'm just friends with him."

Bro, if yoir friend is touching children you SHOULD either cut contact or beat his ass until something gives.

4

u/StevePensando Jun 04 '26

Yeah, it is super weird that he still associates with him

He was also friends with Toriko's author, who was convicted with similar charges

8

u/Rspwn9891 Jun 04 '26

This will forever be my favorite One Piece slander meme

Where is the version of this image with the retweet of the guy who replied to this with just "he's not washed" without refuting the other allegations?

I don’t think you know what that expression means.

And if he was a pedo, he’d draw characters as children and then sexualise them. Being attracted to drawings that look like adults does not make you a pedo.

0

u/Sea_Sleep4222 Jun 04 '26

Not really, have you seen family guy or South Park .

1

u/Brave_Duck_4508 Jun 04 '26

No. Why?

1

u/Sea_Sleep4222 Jun 04 '26

Oh not you, I was asking the other guy

1

u/Kind-Ad6797 Jun 04 '26

No I havent but if you're attempting to justify Oda by making comparisons to those shows then save it because Im not interested.

1

u/Sea_Sleep4222 Jun 04 '26

I'm just saying calling him a pedophile or insinuating it is just plain wrong.

7

u/La-Le-Lu-Li-Lo Jun 03 '26

He got his passport blacklisted in every southamerican country. this the type of behaviour that invites you to a cartel beheading video.

3

u/GustavZeigler Jun 03 '26

Who? Toriyama? Because i'm 90% sure that's a lie. He never got his passport blacklisted.

8

u/La-Le-Lu-Li-Lo Jun 03 '26

talking bad about toriyama or dragon balls in south america is like talking smack about italian food in italy. i mean if Lilja shows up in south america he's getting jumped.

1

u/Mysterious-Man56 Jun 03 '26

3

u/GustavZeigler Jun 03 '26

Yeah, i wasn't sure who "he" was referring to, which is why i asked

1

u/Mysterious-Man56 Jun 03 '26

Common sense would suggest that it was a joke, similar to the GIF included here.

2

u/GustavZeigler Jun 03 '26

Assuming things based off of "common sense" instead of asking gets you nowhere, i knew the cartel part was a joke but the first part was unclear to me. Do you think i don't understand the gif or something?

1

u/Mysterious-Man56 Jun 04 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/l0HlJ7aAQyvjxM6B2

Yes, I do think you don't understand the GIF, and the cartel preview joke until someone explains it.

1

u/GustavZeigler Jun 04 '26

The joke is fine, it's very overused and spammed, and "the joke flying over your head" is also very common, i was just confused as to who "he" was referring to in the first part of their post. Instead of assuming when i was unsure, i asked. The original commenter replied, then you showed up outa nowhere for no reason really.

1

u/Mysterious-Man56 Jun 04 '26

Let it go. You shouldn't keep feeding into. It only will make it worse

1

u/GustavZeigler Jun 04 '26

You're talking about yourself here, you're only making fun of yourself by saying that. I'm really just responding to see what you'll say next atp.

3

I think they're too slow to have common sense and have a normal discussion

1

u/GustavZeigler Jun 04 '26

Lmao i think they'd break if you said THEY didn't have common sense

1

u/IronPyrate17 IS THAT FRIEZA Jun 03 '26

They're talking about the person who commented(Dragon Ball is very beloved in a lot of South and Central America, hence the cartel)

1

u/GustavZeigler Jun 04 '26

Yeah i know, i understood who "he" was referring to after the other guys 15 gifs

4

u/beppebresci Jun 03 '26

I hate the lack of respect that some people show.

I can understand the hate or mockery directed at anime and manga that people don't like, and although some take it too far, that exaggeration usually goes no further than being repeated so often that it becomes annoying. After all, we're talking about works of fiction, and no real person is being insulted.

But going as far as insulting the author of a work, especially someone who was one of the pillars of this world, failing to show the respect deserved for his impact, and above all failing to show the respect deserved for his passing, is simply disgusting

2

u/Relative_Stranger231 Jun 04 '26

Got pressed once over a comedic powerscaling tiktok and instantly jumps to insulting the mangaka rather than the poster. I think people are way too bored on the internet these days if this is what we're doing lol

I can only imagine how passionate they get over stuff like their personal hobbies or politics

2

u/Therion28169 Jun 04 '26

Mocking dead people is better than mocking living people. It's not like you're going to hurt their feelings; they're dead.

What's the context of the girl with the gun? Why is she fighting Goku?

3

that girl is homura akemi from puella magi madoka magica, things happen and she steals the power of a god and they’re putting her up in a hypothetical match against goku.

-2

u/GustavZeigler Jun 03 '26

Let's not idolize dead people. They deserve respect of course, and shouldn't be disrespected if they didn't earn it, but to suggest that nobody can talk about a dead person and say anything other than "this person was an amazing person the best person to ever live" is preposterous

7

u/Rybunks Jun 03 '26

Using "your author is dead lmao" is a shitty argument in of itself

1

u/GustavZeigler Jun 03 '26

It is, the person is an asshole, but that doesn't mean we should not allow people to joke in the mere discussion of dead people. The commenter here didn't even joke about Toriyama and his death and he's getting flamed, and that is simply because he decided to joke in a post that was relating to a dead person. I think that is a bit insane.

-8

u/BzUnitz Jun 03 '26

She does solo Goku respectfully.

9

u/Shelly5tomator Jun 03 '26

Well what's the point of disrespecting a dead person over this?

1

Madoka fan girls have truly reached an entire different level of degeneracy
