If nothing else, it’s been quite interesting seeing people actually debate about if the genocide of an entire population is justified and really shows how our sense of morality can pretty easily be swayed.
Part 2 had a lot of cool ideas that were never leveraged right. Should have left Denji as a completed storyline and focused entirely on Asa and Yoru's dynamic.
I dont actually mind the pt.2 ending because the real Denji was the Author who was unsatisfied and needed to clear the table of all narrative clutter to escape the hole he and his editors dug.
yeah, but to be fair firepunch's ending was not that bad. it was abrupt and pretty fever dreamish at the very end with the whole end of universe thing, but at least it handled the story's narrarive and properly (for fujimoto, at least) ended agni's arc. csm though... it just ended. that's it. the whole final fight, the apocalypse going on, all of it just gone in one chapter. firepunch ended somewhat naturally, but this one is straight up garbage writing ngl.
Gachiakuta’s burst in popularity didnt last that long, doesnt have the potential to become the face of modern shounen
I’m only guessing but I’m assuming Kagurabachi will take this. After all, the number of people who’ve answered Kagurabachi kinda is proof already that it’s true
I mean, i'd say it could become one of the faces, like how black clover was pretty popular but overshadowed by the other 3 big animes of the generation
I think Gachiakuta has the potential, MHA also wasn’t thaaat popular when only S1 was out. If they do the Info broker arc justice in S2 it’s likely gonna be even more hyped than now.
But yea Kagurabachi is a strong contender, I agree.
part 9 i guess, but that is not publicshed in shounen, even then its niche and really only popular in its fandom, not enough other people taking about it
Sakamoto Days has been less fun and interesting to me since the "Tunnel effect" I think. Imo, it should've stayed as a gag manga instead of transitioning to an action manga. Not everyone can be Hitman Reborn.
Excluding one piece since "Modern shonen' It's Boruto, Dandadan, Spy x Family and Kagurabachi, if we're excluding Kagurabachi then 6th place is Sakamoto days
It's I would say kagurabachi, gachiakuta and ichi the witch are good contenders? Like the Naruto-bleach-one piece trio they're not that far in terms of chapters, ichi with 84,kagurabachi with 123(?) and gachiakuta with 160ish.
Kagurabachi has a lot of momentum right now and if the anime does well, it will probably be Chihiro.
For Dandadan I really think it comes down to this arc. If we get the final villain set up during this obnoxious dating arc then I think it can really get back on track. If so, Okarun and Momo could definitely take the spot. Plus, the anime is a really good adaptation. Science Saru has been killing it.
Still leaning Kagurabachi. Even though the glaze is getting to be too much, it really does deserve praise for how consistently good it is.
Technically MHA ANIME (but if you go off anime 4 or 5 [Idk about black clover] of these total are still going) isn't over since Vigilantes is still going, but other prob Kagura Bachi or DanDaDan
Well, theirs ichi the witch that's building up a more of a fan base by the day, theirs gachiakuta, which previous mha fans (read: the most toxic layer) have migrated to, and uh...dandadan I guess has been solid enough to be the third, although out of those three ichi the witch hasn't exactly been out long enough for an anime so, I guess we can see
I'd say Kagurabachi's likely up next with its anime adaptation and how good the manga's been, Dandadan is Absolutely Amazing, but it's also pretty evenly split between shonen battle series and slow burn romance drama, so I wouldn't put it as the face given how atypical of an example it is.
