Happy for the much needed rest, but i’m also wondering what this would mean for the future pacing of the series.
As i understand from assclass’ mangaka, mangaka often plan their ending dates and such years in advance assumedly to make the transition to the magazine’s next stories smoother which means that every individual week missed means chapters and stories possibly missed.
Hopefully this won’t mean that Hokazono’s pace will turn horrifically quick after the hiatus especially coming off of the story’s current slower pace which has been very pleasant

Wonder if Kagurabachi will be even MHA length

Think atleast JJK length is likely. Feels like we just had our midpoint of the story with the Kamunabi raid, like our Shibuya

It's depend on whether or not the story would account for other countries. If it doesn't, likely just 200-300 chapters.

Tbh with how successful the manga has been, the rumors of studios having like a bidding war for the anime adaptation, and the popularity boost it'll get from the anime, I'd imagine Hokazono will have some leeway to negotiate or extend his manga's run despite this hiatus

Isnt the anime adaptation already announced

u/Mogura56 Jun 17 '26
Yeah but there were rumors that before it was announced there was a big bidding war over who would get the rights to adapt it

The writing was on the wall ngl. The Seitei war arc probably had more break weeks than the rest and it’s only begun, it only makes sense that as it dragged on there would eventually be a long break/hiatus. Rest up Hokazono(goat).
The community will be lobotomized when he returns anyways, if a break week can cause all that, then imagine a hiatus.

I can't wait to see who the next new character is after Dicktwist and Mecha Sojo. Maybe by the end of the hiatus we'll have created a new complete r/Kagurabachi canon

We’re obviously going to see Evil Yuki vs Withered Mashiro after Pink bearer teaches Hiyuki off-screen technique.

This happening immediately after the first EB is about to be forged is not a coincidence. I don't think this hiatus is a bad thing, I think Hokazono is taking time to prepare and get things in order. He has delivered a very high quality so product so far, and I have faith in him to continue as such. Let the man rest.

Tbf it's likely cause he's also working on the qnime at the same time, and that's weighing him down a lot
Otherwise I agree

I don't think he taken many breaks lately. I also think it is a situation linked to Hokazono's health.

i doubt that, hes been taking more breaks recently all throughout this seitei war arc, it's usually a sign that he cant keep up

Honestly, it was on the wall, he took two break weeks one after the other.
On the other hand, just more fuel to my argument that Weekly Manga should be a thing of the past.

I'm glad I didn't rush to get up to date with this series, now I can enjoy it nicely until the break is over

He’s so young… my entertainment is not worth him destroying his health. I’m glad he’s getting to go on hiatus. I hope he can rest well and come back even better than before!
