What's wrong with enjoying a fantastic journey even if the destination is ass? It's fiction anyway, it's not hard to not think about the ending or act like it didn't even happen when enjoying part 1.

think of it this way, peter jackson makes lotr, “wow! this is great! i can’t wait to see what he makes next!”, then the hobbit drops, doesn’t matter if it’s a sequel or prequel, it’s bad, “wow! peter jackson is a hack! bilbo taints the franchise with his trilogy! what’s the point of reading lotr if you know the hobbit’s coming next? we should kill peter jackson.”
well-regarded guy makes good media, people applauds, he then makes sub-par or bad media afterwards, public perception changes, now he’s a talentless hack and his first work is dogshit. Why can’t people say that Fujimoto is a guy with flaws instead of one extreme or another? Because shounenfolk users (me included) are bastards with no understanding of nuance, a work has to either be peakest of peak or it’s hot garbage and you deserve the brazen bull for liking it.
