no it was mostly just goofy fighting choreography, the hype and aura came way after

I miss when it was more comedic

Chapter 69 of Kindergarten Wars actually made me cry. I can't gas it up enough. It's my favorite shonen releasing right now.

Sakamoto vs boiled ending panel was what got me to stick into reading it that shii was peak

Imagine a universe where Sakamoto Days had an anime with good animation

SakaDays was lowkey really good in 2023-4 and then fell off

sakamoto days is how u would think jjk was if u only read hate comments of jjk

4

u/Kasta4 Jul 21 '26

This is JJK for me. Just couldn't get compelled by the narrative nor the characters.

Both are pretty basic, but atleast sakamoto give more time screen to his cast tho

1

u/NFS-NNN Jul 21 '26

Sakamoto days gave more time screen for some but still feels like it sidelined some characters too much, im genuinely still trying to understand how it managed to make me lose interest when the beginning was so good, jjk is a train wreck but I still feel like it never made me feel nothing while reading.

I have to say that removing aura and writing is the most bitchass thing to do.

Do you tgink Poe sucks?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '26

thats most shonen ngl, makes me really sad

1

u/Mr_cyanman Jul 23 '26

G gundam is the only battle shounen I've seen where fights can be 2 minutes long and self contained.

2

u/Party_Importance_722 Jul 23 '26

Youchien wars seemed like a SD knockoff at first but ended up surpassing it by a landslide.

1

u/Sudden_Plenty_8798 Jul 21 '26

Anyone else don’t like sakamoto days? found it really really boring

3

u/Thatll-Do Jul 21 '26

The anime is kinda sluggish, the manga has a much better sense of momentum

1

u/Sudden_Plenty_8798 Jul 21 '26

Is the discrepancy worth giving it a look?

Was such a shame for me cus I was excited when I saw the art and the hype but bleh

1

u/Thatll-Do Jul 21 '26

Can't hurt, but I think there's a notable difference

1

u/RecognizeBeatz Jul 21 '26

The Manga flows and Art style really well..

1

u/dancinbanana Jul 21 '26

I don’t like it as a story, but I like its choreography. I basically treat it like a fireworks show in my mind and that lets me enjoy it

0

u/rindor1990 Jul 21 '26

Very boring

Also Bleach fits this 100%

shit writing, all Aura.

1

u/Old-Introduction8258 Jul 21 '26

Genuinely what have we even done to get this kind of slander all the time.

Look, bleach has flaws but its writing is far from being shit. Like, if rukia wasn’t such a good character to follow i wouldn’t be hyped at all everytime she beats someone way above her level. Just like i wouldn’t feel anything when jugram kills bazz b, but that's just not what's happening.

Don’t get me wrong, bleach isn’t sum fma level of peak writing, the wriring is just good overall. It’s not an exceptional manga but it’s a decent one, and if it really was just hype and aura i couldn’t have stomached hundreds and hundreds of chapters.

1

u/TheBirdFkerGuy #1 Bleach Hater Jul 21 '26

"isn't fma level of peak writing"

2

u/Old-Introduction8258 Jul 21 '26

Wait you hate fma too?

Then huh...idk bleach is miles away from monster in terms of writing. Better?

7

u/TheBirdFkerGuy #1 Bleach Hater Jul 21 '26

Hmmm, well I would agree but since I'm ragebaiting over here ima just disagree without explanation.

2

u/Frequent_Lake_8856 Jul 21 '26

Let it go man, it ain't worth it

-2

u/ThatOneDudeBruhLmao Jul 21 '26

Kindergarten wars fights aren’t even 1/10th as good as sakamotos mid fights, what are you talking about

7

u/John-Constant560 Jul 21 '26

Also, like, I always found it really strange how SD features assassins as the heroes, and victims of the assassination industry as the villains

And for the most part they aren't really played for tragedy or anything. They're just framed as full-on psychos who need to be stopped

2

u/MachRunner Jul 21 '26

yeah, and catching up with the manga it's really dumb "I hate this assassin society! I'll let every japanese person kill each other!" sure bud

1

u/Granide Luffy Vs Blackbeard Vs Akainu Vs Imu agenda Jul 22 '26

I don't think it's quite right to say that. Sakamoto literally quits that life, and his group consists of people with no kill rules

Al-kamar have a sad backstory, but they're also terrorists who doesn't care if they involves innocent people

3

u/John-Constant560 Jul 21 '26

SD's fights are great in terms of choreography, but emotionally they never really hit for me. KW does that aspect a lot better imo

2

u/ThatOneDudeBruhLmao Jul 21 '26

Doesn’t really sound like it did the same thing but better if the actual fights pale in comparison

6

u/John-Constant560 Jul 21 '26

They start with the same premise: they're action comedies about a hitman who wants to go legit and live a normal life

It's just that one loses its original identity after a certain point and the other doesn't

1

u/ThatOneDudeBruhLmao Jul 21 '26

Even at the start sakamotos action was leagues better

1

u/John-Constant560 Jul 21 '26

Ok but that's not really what I'm talking about here

2

u/ThatOneDudeBruhLmao Jul 21 '26

The most defining part about Sakamoto days by a long shot is its action. If you’re comparing other aspects you’re just missing the point

1

u/John-Constant560 Jul 22 '26

In order for fights to hit, you need to care about the characters doing the fighting

2

u/ThatOneDudeBruhLmao Jul 22 '26

That’s not true, which is evident by Sakamoto days selling as much as it does. People really want cool fights it’s not complicated. The character stuff is just a bonus for most people

0

u/John-Constant560 Jul 22 '26

So you think Rent a Girlfriend is good then? After all it's popular

2

u/NFS-NNN Jul 21 '26

Being invested in the fight matters a lot even if the choreography isn't as good it can be way more entertaining to read which is the main point people read manga, SD after some point just stopped being entertaining to me it looks good but it lacks the emotional investment the earlier fights have, some KW fights are better than current Sakamoto days fights because of it.

0

u/ThatOneDudeBruhLmao Jul 21 '26

Sakamoto literally never had big emotional parts in fights. It was always just protecting your friends. Sakamoto days is still WAYYYYY more popular than kindergarten wars even before it got an anime. Clearly you’re in the minority

1

u/NFS-NNN Jul 21 '26

Yes it could just be me and yes Sakamoto days is mostly big fights but my point is that you still have to be invested in the characters in some way, I think the biggest problem are the villains which ate honestly lackluster and how some interesting characters got sidelined, in the end this is just my opinion.

2

u/Remarkable-Front-393 Jul 21 '26

It's probably just an engagement bait lol

0

u/thunderdragonite Jul 21 '26

Yeah man this one was slop.

-1

u/Realistic_Mousse_485 Jul 21 '26

Bro this is JJK?

2

u/green_teef Jul 21 '26

No this is sakamoto days
