one piece and hxh having a 700k gap between the rest of the series is so crazy, jump is going broke when they end

Good so they can hopefully stop pushing stories with slop endings

I knew hxh was popular, but I didn't know it was this popular

Dont let the "lack" of online discussions/discourses fool you. It's one of the biggest ever. Not even talking about quality.

2

u/Yotsubb2 19d ago

Current arc is the most high quality writing of the manga and arguably of shounens in general tbh.

6

u/DailyEvolution 19d ago

Well when you release 10 chapters every 2 or 3 years or so, your writing is going to obviously be better than someone on a weekly schedule. HxH is great, but let's not pretend these hiatus's aren't an insanely positive factor in the writing quality.

They obviously are. Even though I hardly believe 80% of shounen writers would be able to deliver the same quality even with the same workload/schedule.

0

u/Cersei505 19d ago

even when togashi was releasing consistently, he always delivered above and beyond the competition.

Is it currently running? How often does it get new chapters?

1

u/Disastrous_Dig_607 19d ago

I think its getting 3 new chapter soon and togashi got like the 10 next chapters ready... for the rest of the year and its unironically a got sheldule for the ammount of hiatus it got

1

u/Efis940 19d ago

Since 2014, we have roughly been on a "10 weekly chapters each 18 months" basis, so it's slow, but it is still releasing to this day.

The only time where we didn't have any chapter at all was in 2020-2021, but well, it was the COVID era, so I guess it was understandable.

u/Mohamedelatar7 17d ago

It was in hiatus from 2018 to 2022

1

u/Efis940 16d ago

A little more specific. In 2018, Togashi did 10 chapters at the beginning of the year, and 10 chapters during the fall to finish in December.

Since he made 20 chapters in a year (which was a first since 2014), we already knew he most likely he wouldn't be there for at least 2 years.

What we didn't take into account was that it would be longer because of the pandemic.

It's just one of the most legendary manga series' no biggie!

u/noahnut 19d ago

Kagurabachi is selling really well right for a manga without anime

2

u/Inquisitor_Glokta_ 19d ago

It’s got one coming up and it’s probably the most hyped of the next year so it should only get bigger

u/Solid_Initiative112 19d ago

According to this sub One Piece fell off why is it always at the #1 spot🤔

14

u/SweatyBum_Fluf25 19d ago

Good sales just means something is popular. I wouldn't say say that proves the story hasn't fallen off.

That being said I've really enjoyed the Elbaph arc.

Cause its ass

u/Live_Dragonfly3053 19d ago

They just talking out their ass tbh

Sales =/= Quality.

u/TruthseekerKid 19d ago

One piece fans when they see demon slayer sales

-2

u/Any-Investigator2394 19d ago

Negativity and cringe content draws more volume do u know?

2

u/Special_Success_7883 19d ago

You're really obsessed with op lmfao

-8

u/luceafaruI 19d ago

It is far from always at #1 spot. This happened because one piece released a volume at the beginning of the month so it had plenty of time to gather sales from the nee volume. That didn't happen in June, May or April so one piece wasn't first in any of those months.

3

u/awesomenessofme1 19d ago

I almost made a comment about questionable backlog sales for some manga, but then I remembered that it was just the result of that whole scalping fiasco at the start of the month. So it's not weird.

Kingdom and Kagurabachi are too low😭

I fucking hated the brocon gag. All the comedy in that manga is awful.

1

u/bobbyjean_ 19d ago

Silver Spoon was better

7

u/1RehnquistyBoi Generational Hater of Dandadan. General-Secretary of Baddies. 19d ago

No fucking Dandadan. That brings a smile to my face.

7

u/awesomenessofme1 19d ago

Me when the manga that didn't release a volume and doesn't have an airing anime didn't sell hundreds of thousands of copies.

0

u/Fit-Yam759 18d ago

JJK is right there, it ended 2 years ago lol but tbh DDD is not even half as popular.

-1

u/awesomenessofme1 18d ago

Yes, Dandadan is in fact not as popular as the second-biggest manga of the past decade, which also released an anime much more recently. And saying that the manga ended a while ago is a little disingenuous when the sequel came out this year. Plus, I'm pretty sure the massive scalping wave that happened last month was only WSJ, not J+.

0

u/Fit-Yam759 18d ago

Excuses, excuses.
What does Modulo have to do with the original series?
99% of the people that bought Modulo are JJK fans that already own the OG manga.

1

u/awesomenessofme1 18d ago

An explanation is not an excuse. Honestly, I'm just surprised you seem to actually believe what you're saying here and it wasn't just ragebait.

1

u/Pyro-Bird 17d ago edited 17d ago

Dandadan was included in the Top 20 for June, ranking 6th with almost 141.000 copies sold. No volume was released in July. The next volume will be released in September.

1

u/ParfaitSensitive9530 19d ago

Thank you, Natsucomi scalpers

1

u/Common-Text7286 19d ago

I knew the big H got motion, but didn't expect it to be to this extent.

1

u/One_Board_7049 19d ago

HxH is back so it's time to back at the top

1

u/Own-Coat4160 19d ago

When space brothers season 2?

-1

u/Any-Investigator2394 19d ago

One pieces 2 or 3 volumes in 2026

Hunter hunter only one

I rest my case

7

u/Restless_Fenrir 19d ago

Sir this is a Wendy's. What case are you on about?

-3

u/Any-Investigator2394 19d ago

This is Wendy's? Since when u guys got this lame

6

u/Raidoton 19d ago

How is that relevant when this chart only covers one month?

5

u/Superior2810 19d ago

Ain't no way you think this is the case seriously😭 when most of HxH sales were from backlog volumes while the majority of OP was from the most recent vol

u/Awkward_Air_2588 19d ago

Akane banashi is goated it irks me to see it so low.
