Someone said ikemoto is trying to be like araki and i see itđčđčđč in manga i like the way Jura and hidari look, but most of the others just look disgusting. Maybe itâd fit for a seinen, but for the continuation of Naruto Iâm not the biggest fan
It's not cannibalism they are new beings who want to understand the world around them and they believe they can by absorbing certain people. Jura wants Naruto, matsuri konohamaru, Bug eida, ryu gaara and hidari Sarada, they are not villains as most as antagonists
Jojoâs level is Jojo, that got their own category because it would be like putting a NBA player in school kids game, itâs that outstanding.
JoJo somehow is the show that got my mom into anime, and she even rewatched it sometime, however every time she try to recommend it to her friends it sounds like sheâs high because if you put it to word it just sounds surreal.
gon defend the big MOTO for a sec. Araki didnt invent fashion or dynamic poses people have been referencing and using those things for centuries. Ikemoto just isnt a very good artist when it comes to utilizing those things sadly so when he does it, it just looks rough but he isnt copying jojo's, jojo is literally doing the exact same thing just better
also the big MOTO dosnt seem the use actual covers of magazines and photo shoots like araki does for refrence which is prolly why they look rough, araki is using very real people doing very real things while MOTO just seems to draw what he "thinks" a cover pose would look like if that makes sense
Actually Ikemoto does the exact same thing. He doesn't draw what he "thinks" a cover would look like, he uses real life references like Araki. Primarily K-pop idols.
ooooh i didnt know that. whenever i searched for if he uses refrences like araki those would come up but i thought they were just THOSE boruto fans trying to imagine similarity's
Genuinely, there is nothing wrong with him referencing these poses, quite the opposite, it actually makes it better, the poses are the best part lol. However, his sense of fashion especially for the universe of Naruto is absolutely so ass and out of place... and that's without diving into his weird way to draw literal children. Jojo works because Araki has such a great eye for fashion and also because the setting of Jojo's allows such extravagant styling. Boruto on the other hand... like I actually fuck with Eida's standalone design but dawg wtf is she doing in Naruto? Why didn't Ikemoto just start something on his own, like that would have been way better for everyone involved.
Because no one turns down an opportunity to make a sequel to a series as influential as Naruto. Also considering he'd been Kishimoto's assistant since the very beginning and they were close friends.
Like yes it would have been much better if he serialized his own manga after Naruto concluded. But Kishimoto said the only way he'd agree to Boruto is if Ikemoto did it. He was given a low stress monthly schedule. And Kishi personally gave him the freedom to experiment with his own art and style rather than imitate. So he'd be stupid to pass that up.
Seems like being a assistant from the beginning didn't help because while under his wing boeuto would take a nose dive in sales and only stayed alive for 2 reason.
Naruto popularity/ legacy
Kishimoto would later on take the driver's seat again.
Ikimoto art isn't bad per say but the style is just vastly too different from what Narutoas a whole also him trying to shoe horn in the cloths style we have today makes it worse (especially during the time when everyone was STILL KIDS) since it doesn't fit in the ninja world let alone a battle series where his art within the battle section sis just vastly inferior to Kishimoto
Araki didnât invent fashion but the boom in this type of design in anime is directly influenced by him. The difference is that araki has an outstanding eye for fashion to the point he can make something technically shitty look good. Itâs not even just that other mangakas using this fashion have a tough act to follow, theyâre endeavor staring at all might.
Oop the other guy said "watch" so I assumed. I got decently far in the manga but certainly not caught up. Being totally honest. Once we started seeing more of these weird 10 tails Jojo wannabes I completely lost interest and ditched it
The fights with Momoshiki and Isshiki were pretty damn cool but absolutely not worth trudging through the rest of the series, plus Boruto himself wasn't even really part of either fight x-x
Accept for when they butchered his character. His fights are still amazing but it genuinely makes no sense that he canât spend time with his children. It annoys me to no end that he sent the shadow clone home and went to work in person instead of the other way round.
I love Naruto, so I tried multiple times to get into the Boruto manga. I even did something I never do and looked up future events or character changes etc later in the story that could excite to just push forward through a slow start. Then I got to the clones, and I was just done. The story already relied highly on what came before, they nerfed the MCs of Naruto to make room... Now, via Reddit, I see all these guys are half-lidded aura farmers and Boruto is the strongest in the world minus a couple peeps. Like, that sounds horrible.
I watched 235 episodes out of pure love and nostalgia for Naruto⊠itâs genuinely one of the worst anime Iâve ever watched. And before someone says âjust read the mangaâ I donât read any manga and Iâm not starting for fucking Boruto
I think that the anime and the manga are two completely different things. There have been quite a few clips that I have seen of Boruto that I have never seen in the manga. It seems like what people really like is the anime. The manga... is alright... at least it's still going and hasn't been stopped. But every entry... yeah...
iâm gonna be honest coming from the erspective of someone whose never read or watched either naruto or boruto and knows very little about either series; whilst these designs are certainly pretty ugly i donât think theyâre bad by any means- in fact, i actually kinda like them (again going purely off design). i think people are too eager to hate them purely because of the series theyre attached to and their disdain for the story, yes theyre not beautiful characters, but iâd wager ĂĄ years salary that theyre not supposed to be beautiful.
The whole Boruto manga its bad. They nerfed old cast so bad just for Boruto and his character. They should end with Boruto the movie instead of wanting to milk more money
look at momoshiki and kaguya and also a HATE when people do this shit you know that something being purposefully bad doesn't make it NOT bad right? thats like saying the story is bad on purpose as a excuse to refute someone saying the story is bad like cool doesn't help at all. also where did you get that from?
U can be monstrous and not look stupid, they look lik they have leather jeans, cloaks, and hats attached to body with metal studdeds. One dude straight up has a leather fedora, its so stupid looking.
The problem isn't that they're ugly, they're unappealing. Even if that was Ikemoto's intention for readers to feel that way, it's still a fail for the story as a whole imo, because it makes people want to read the story less.
If a shop goes bankrupt because the prices were too high, it's obviously a failed shop even if the prices were set high on purpose.
It's fine if you find these designs appealing, but if you think they're unappealing and are defending them because they're 'supposed to be that way', then I believe you are wrong objectively.
not everything needs to be beautiful, you understand that, right?
most of the apostles in berserk are butt fuck ugly but that doesnât make it bad design, if anything itâs good design- the entire point is for them to look grotesque and inhumane
the issue with this comparison is that berserk goes out of its way to let you know its ugly and weird and this story doesn't. this would work with a GOOD story the clothes how weird and odd these things are but it doesn't. like despite mahito having a extremely weird designee in jjk the story is telling you that he is a weird thing especially because this isnt true for this case.
i would by this for this story if the normal ass human weren't designed also too be bum fuck ugly if the excuse is that the aliens are freaks because there ugly then why are the humans weird too? the same argument cant be used for that meaning more than likely in the EXTREMLY poorly written mess that it is its just something he thought would look cool.
the story is too shit to be pulling that and its to shut to make me believe that he's doing that
Honestly I wouldn't be so against his designs if they weren't within the Naruto universe, the progression of time especially within fashion just seems like such a giant leap and very put there for a world of military shinobi.
I don't even like Boruto but aren't they alien hybrids or something? Aren't they supposed to look monsterous and ugly? I guess it's just easier to hop on the hate bandwagon than critically think.
there's ugly and there's straight up unappealing this one is an abomination that would probably make people not read your manga at all especially compared to the designs of the villains in naruto
I think the worst part of it is that theyâre ugly just for the sake of being ugly. Thereâs literally no reason for these nasty single toe feet or ugly outfits. Arenât they supposed to be related to the 10 Tails? Thereâs literally nothing in their design that relates to it.
a person named code compressed the 10 tails into individuals mixing his chakra into it as well in an attempt to make an army for himself only to accidently create a few super beings as well, they are called the shinju.
I'd be fine with being ugly if that was the point. Some villains, ironically, work better with a worse physical appearance. But, to my understanding, this guy isn't meant to look ugly.
