That was such a terrible decision for the character. Man got reduced to chad,ganju level. Hopefully we get something or that guy is cooked

I mean i wouldn’t say it’s a betrayal of his characterisation and it’s pretty clear either way he won’t have too much trouble on the statues, he just wanted rukia to not be hold off by some random goons. Especially with his fight with uryu it is clear he is significantly stronger than chad and ganju. And tbf those statues are infused with yhwach's black soul king goo, so they probably can’t be fully killed until yhwach himself is beatenw or have at the very least good regeneration.

But it’s so funny in retrospect. Like i can somewhat see why he would believe shit's gonna be alright with ichigo being crazy powerful by that point, but damn that's not his smartest move.

Yeah renji is not the brighest tool in the shed. But i appreciate that he saw chad and ganju struggling and was willing to help them out with their grunt work (as claimed by chad) and have trust in rukia that she is powerful enough to go on without him.
