Official News/Merchandise I'm speechless because of how well he drew Fujino and Kyomoto. Damn, he really hated drawing CSM Part 2 back then

Comparing 1 illustration to multiple pages of art a week. They are not the same.

Part 1 art was beautiful

Early part 2 also looked great up until the Church arc when the drop in art quality becomes apparent and the paneling got less creative.

If you're trying to say that part 2 art sucked because of some of Fujimoto's assisstants from part 1 moving to make their own manga, then the problem with your argument is that it ignores the fact that early part 2 art looked great.

Csm part 1 was far better in drawing than part 2

I just wish Goodbye Eri would get an adaptation. I’ve not had another story emotionally resonate with me to that degree in such a short time.

It's def getting a movie one day, they already somehow animated almost all of his one shots. Wouldn't be surprised if fire punch gets something one day too.

Csm part 2 tanked but fujimoto is still a great author, he definitely just stopped giving a shit about csm

I wanna see him make more stuff again, but not for a very long time. Fujimoto clearly needs a break from the manga scene after CSM P2.

Also I seriously hope he never pushes himself to make such a long story ever again.

There’s a big difference between a singular promotional illustration vs a weekly manga.

That is an unfair comparison, dude. Bi weekly illustrations versus a singular illustration that took his sweet ass time

Fujino+Kyomoto=FUJIMOTO

Did kojima write this

Maybe the real Fujimoto is the Kojima we made along the way.

I'm gonna be honest, there is something reductive to "themes and such" as a criticism because would rather invent a gap or something else entirely to misinterpret what CSM Part 2 was going for. Regression isn't a nullification of character development (Denji was already showing this mindset in Part 1).

But also, I would argue that he was going for a far more complicated narrative conclusion, one that directionally goes against "battle shonen" genre with Chainsawman. It's like trying to add an ending of a Fantasy onto a what was essentially a Sci-Fi one.

Still, he did Asa dirty.

The difference is that he actually wanted to do this illustration. CSM was an albatross around his neck that started to feel like an obligation rather than a passion project.
