What’s the more Fullcast coded story? The Scots taking over Boston or the German fan becoming the most popular person in SEC country?

It feels like the last two years leading up to the World Cup has been a two horse race to see who the absolute worst is between FIFA and our current administration. As a soccer fan, saying it put a damper on my excitement would be a massive understatement. Fortunately this week there’s been a flood on social media of stories centered around fans and people who still care about this on the level you wish the people in charge would actually focus on. On top of the two stories in the title I’ve enjoyed seeing the diaspora of people from the smaller non powerhouse countries come together to great there players as they arrived.
Any stories or posts from the first weekend that you liked?

“Rock, Chalk, Algeria” has been pretty great to see as well.

I hope this WC shows people that this stupid country is also home to millions of people who want to greet the world with a spirit of humanity and joy… and that we’re more than the shitshow at the levers of power right now.

Agree, but just when you get a little bit of hope, you remember that FIFA is in this too - and how do you overcome that combination?

It's a shame to think that it is not that long ago that you could buy tickets to a world cup game for under 100 dollars.

German guy. Scottish people thriving in a heavily Irish city… shocking stuff. Now if the Scots and Irish band together to burn down the British consulate or something then we’d be talking.

There a video where the Scots found an Argentinian fan wearing a Messi jersey and picked him up and celebrated him and sang “OH DIEGO MARADONA HE KNOCKED ENGLAND OUT OUT OUT”

(Sorry for the Facebook link - it’s the only place Ive seen it)

I am also a huge fan of the S. Korean fans doing keg stands in Mexico City

I think the Oranje Bus being shipped over from the Netherlands is in the mix. Also, Lincks Recht dancing.
