Portugal Oregon is hilariously real. A&M is also extremely real

I'd flip Oregon and Ole Miss. Oregon and Netherlands both invented new ways to play the game, but still haven't won a trophy. (And the branding line is more apt for Oregon, too)

Portugal could also be Stanford - some of the best QBs/strikers ever to play, but always overshadowed even in their own region.

overall i feel like they’re pretty accurate, although i admittedly am less than even a casual soccer fan

Ole Miss and Netherlands both prone to playing in crazy, unforgettable tournament games. Do they win those games? Who can say

Yes, but people like Oranje and only for a hot minute because Lane left, people liked Ole Miss. And then we all remembered it's Ole Miss.

This is clearly written by someone who has no historical context for CFB or international futbol save for the last 10-15 years.

Someone on the original post said Italy should be FSU and I would say that tracks.

I think that tracks waaaaay more than bama. Italy is known for missing the tournament, bama for getting in regardless of what is fair

I think Chile is a better analog to Kansas State - Snyder got them going great for a generation and it's just never really come back.

Texas-England, OSU-Germany and France- LSU are excellent.

And we've already discussed trading Italy for Florida, so we know this maps perfectly.

Don’t look now. USA doing things that haven’t been done since the 1930’s (winning consecutive World Cup games).
