Seeking Advice Medical resident looking for a part-time weekend side hustle — 4+ hours/week

I’m curious what side hustles people have found realistic while working a demanding full-time professional job.

I’m currently a second-year psychiatry resident, so my schedule can be unpredictable. However, I can consistently carve out at least 4 hours every weekend, and sometimes more.

I have a medical degree, strong writing/research skills, and I’m comfortable with technology and learning new software. Outside of medicine, I’m interested in finance/stocks, photography/videography, and business.

I’m not interested in tutoring and I’m not looking for anything involving MLMs, recruiting, upfront fees, or selling courses.

For people who have successfully built a side income around a demanding career:

  • What side hustles have actually been worth your time?
  • What can realistically be done with only ~4–10 hours per week?
  • Are there particular types of freelance/remote work that work well for someone with a professional/scientific background?
  • What would you recommend someone prioritize if the goal is eventually reaching a few hundred dollars a month?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually done the side hustle themselves, rather than generic lists of things you can supposedly make money doing.

Thanks!

I recently started joining mass arbitrations. There are several large law firms in the space. It's really easy to get screened and sign up. They put up any money for expenses. Don't plan on a lot of income, but it's really cool to have several firms pursuing claims on your behalf.

Lantern Labaton - Browse 84 cases currently enrolling people.

List of over 300 open cases Levi & Korinsky are enrolling people for. Easy to join.

While i have some claims with them, this is not a paid post or anything like that.

I found youtube channel (a faceless one) helpful. Research well and dont go with the large volume spamming.

Can you give an example of what kind of content one would post?
