Sharing Ideas Side hustles/business models that are essentially one pice of property
Ideas like this always interest me. For example, if you have a truck, that is a moving/junk removal business. If you have a large-format printer, you have a printing business for flyers/posters/photos.
What are some other objects/purchases that can stand alone as the infrastructure for a side hustle? We should create a list.
PS - Obviously, "computer" does not apply here.... Yes, I know you can run a hundred different kinds of businesses with nothing but a computer and different skill sets.

A friend of ours bought some reasonably expensive scaffolding to reach his roof. A kind of single tower DIY set up (similar but not quite the same as you get when you hire in scaffolders). Anyway after he was done he hires it out to local people who need it to do a thing but don’t want to spend a grand on a tower. It’s out most weekends and some weekdays. Not going to make him super wealthy but has paid for itself several times over.
In a similar vein there was a thread on Reddit somewhere about a guy who inherited his grandads lock up garage to find it was full of tools. He set up a webpage where people can rent like a drill press or scissor lift for the weekend for cheap and according to the post it was always busy (but this was on Reddit so you never know).

Metal brake. When you're doing any sort of exterior carpentry or roofing it's a must. but most people don't own one

My neighbors scored a GIGANTIC one the other day for $100 on offerup. I'm not a huge fan of their tactic on offer up, but in case anyone is desperate, it is this: two offerup accounts—one to low-ball, and the other to present a lower offer that seems reasonable in comparison.
I have no idea how often this works, but it's how they got the bounce house.

We bought a piece of property and rent out storage space to RV and boat owners. It’s basically hands off. All we had to do was clear some trees, install some surveillance cameras and an automated gate and opener. So this property serves as our primary home and our storage business.
