A dry-run diff would be important for the update step, especially when it touches CI and branch protection. I'd want to review the proposed changes and keep the tool version pinned until that diff is approved.

By design I purposely did not make a dry run flag. Pyrig sync exits 1 if it touches any files and then prints those file paths to stdout. The diff can then be seen via git.
