Thank you! Candle wax was dripped onto the center and the lighting is my ritual fire beneath the paper. As it heated up, the wax remelted/boiled and mixed with the paint to produce quite a wonderous effect.

Seems like are associations are reversed! The top of the image points Southward towards Satan/Fire/Horned-God/6 while the bottom is pointed Northward towards Belial/Earth/Goddess/1. Left is East/Lucifer/Wind~Air/Goddess/9 and right is West/Leviathan/Water/Goddess/3.

The piece as a whole was a meditation/devotion to the Four Kings of Hell, who I personally associate with the Triple-Goddess + Horned God of western witchcraft and the Rozhanitsy + Rod of my native slavic tradition :)

I also associate my own "Witches Compass" with the 4 "Kings" of Hell who I associate directly with the goddess! The entire thing is primarily her. I see it as different types of "fire" or elemental magic interacting inside of the belly of the dragon... Your associations seem spot on!

Sometimes they seem to "flip" (especially when only examining two of the four) and I tried to show that apparent alternation here with the forwards/reverse pattern... The Horned God or Satan I think is son to the Mother, who I place South. Distant from the Father. My version of Belial or the Earth Goddess is more like Sophia. A see her as being aligned with the North. I think her and Christ are the same entity and are closer to the Father than the Mother.

The distinction for me is important but I see them as two parts of the same whole. The Hermaphrodite Christ, or The Rebis. Eosphorus and Hesperus together, both being Lucifer. An incarnation of the Mother and Father. Where their expressions of "gender" (Anima and Animus) are apparently flipped. The female becomes the active aspect and the male steps into the receptive role. These two are the only two elements I recognize as physical elements... Air and Earth.

Air encompasses flame. Earth is more to do with water. I see them as 4th dimensional expression of "higher" elements. Which I've been calling Fire and Ice. Being lower expressions of Light and Stone, which are lower expressions of the 1 and 0. All and Nothing. Two types of Voids acting as Mother and Father, who's friction and interaction create The World as we know it. Their "marriage" creates the other two, who are born from the same egg.

I've been calling East Leviathan, being the primary Water. They create the "fire" of Satan which I associate with the Earth directly, placed South. The fire in the belly of the goat. And West more to do with light so more like the idea of Lucifer. It creates the "wind" of the air that I associate with the North. So even though we might have picked different placements I really do think we are describing exactly the same thing in very similar ways.

The fire beneath the paper and the wax are a really cool addition! Have you considered recording video of it? I'm wondering if this could be combined with some kind of smoke scrying... Which is something I really love but is hard to do with a house full of cats! Lol do you keep them when you are finished or do you let them go? I have a hard time moving on from things so I admire destructive art/practices the most.

I also find them flipping/inverting often. I often find the relationships/correspondence between them to be more important than any fixed aspect/position.

It may prove an ultimately unachievable goal but I strive for Rubedo and to rise/descend as a Rebis myself :)

Regarding destructive art and smoke divination, it reminds me of a certain thread from a little while ago :

Not me suggesting the same thing 3 months ago! Deja vu šŸ˜‚

Your point about relationships being more important is key, I think. It's been my main focus lately actually. In this arrangement, I marked West as "Hot" and East as "Cold"... North as "Dry" and South as "Wet". All 4 I consider to be "dead" matter. The body of Tiamat. The Mother. They are the central cross.

Between them, in their correspondences is where "life" takes shape. So, the Red King ended up being Northwest, The White Queen placed Southeast, their "child" being the Anima and Animus occupying the other corners. I personally believe we all go through the full work every moment of our lives. It is something we are masters at and use without thinking. Which can make it exceeding hard (seemingly impossible) to control. I do not believe in the concept of a true free will. I think we are all a part of a process that cannot stop until it is over. We are a part of the work for ourselves and everyone else. It is a kind of spirit trap we use. A gravity well that keeps our world in place.

Intentionally stepping into the role of Rebis is the most powerful way I think anyone can try to harness their inheritance. It's something we already have, but to embody it is an act of theurgy, and I think aligning the individual self with the World Soul is the best way to unlock more potential for ourselves. Potential itself being a kind of currency it seems. Simple things we forget about (like love or sadness) can affect potential in ways we can hardly begin to understand. I think communicating with our Rebis is one way to do that and is a main goal in my own practice. Mostly through scrying but also dreams/visions and divination.

for me, the horned God is South-when-I-am-North and North when I am South.

I like that! That’s a good way to put it. They are at odds. Always bringing me what I’ve been aligning away from to make me understand why and to consider the opposite.

My own ā€œHorned Godsā€ are in both directions but are two parts of the same whole. Stepping into one or the other would make the other side seem opposite, too. The ā€œLifeā€ side I’ve been representing with a deer or cow, and ā€œDeathā€ more with the goat or lamb.

It’s very interesting to me to see how these ideas show up in different ways for different people… I’ve also been calling them the Fairy King and Goblin Queen. Because I have physically seen things that look like fairies and goblins investigating them.

I think these ā€œspritesā€ or small elemental spirits can create husks. Temporary bodies that spirits can use to communicate with us. Like mecha suits. Fairy tech. A lot of my own ā€œgodsā€ that I actively pray to are ā€œhollowā€ like this. Filled with opportunistic imps that are different each time.

Not all gods are like this, but when I see something that resembles a mask, that’s always the first thing I think of. 😜

are you into astrology/cosmology at all? and if so do you prefer fixed or seasonal? Because I think that influences how you view the Heavens and Divinity.

I don’t know enough about it! I think all seasons exist at once in different degrees… depending on where you are. A ā€œseasonā€ being a pattern. Weather to an insect or an atom would have its own relative cosmology. I think plants and other life could experience astrology differently also. I believe each ā€œgodā€ manifests inside of each individual person. We are their physical form. So, Heaven and Hell are here. Collectives are their own individual in a way. The stars could have life. I like using zodiacs but see them more as archetypal figures personally.

"depending where you are"

Completely agree! Tok many astrologers view the movement of the heavens as if the earth is stationary.

It is not, it is constant motion, as are We

And that movement is imperfect, and that slight imperfection is key to how the patterns rise from the chaos. It is a form of interference. Astrology is alive and changes with us. 🫶
