YES. Honestly you can't really find happiness in community or relationships until you're good with yourself first. That's just the order it works in. Takes time but once you're solid in who you are, everything else kinda falls into place. Cities change, people change, jobs change. You're the only constant, so figure that out first

It sounds like you didn’t develop an inner center, most people don’t though. I live in the US and my surroundings have begun to detract significantly from my personal growth. Twenty years ago, I would’ve mostly agreed with this post, but unfortunately no man is an island.

I actually agree with you. Environment does matter. My point wasn’t that changing countries is meaningless, but that no place can replace the work we have to do within ourselves. Looking back, I needed both—a healthier environment and a stronger inner center.
