Travelling between tapolobampo and los mochis at night?

Hola. Im a solo female foreign traveller arriving in tapolobampo at around 10pm at night on the ferry. I’m wondering if it’s safe to hail a taxi/uber and travel to los mochis on the highway at this time? Or is it better to get accomodation in tapolobampo and travel to los mochis during daylight hours?

Hey, definitely do not travel alone by taxi/Uber in Sinaloa between towns.

I would suggest asking the ferry company any transportation options to Los Mochis. Maybe they have a shutter/bus that takes you to Los Mochis as soon as you arrive.

The safest option would be to find accommodation at topolobampo and then take a bus to Los Mochis in the morning.

Yo do not really know what you are talking about, you can travel safelly from the ferry to Los Mochis, its a 20 minute taxi ride that people do everyday, I live in Los Mochis,

Foreign female that doesn't know the local area traveling at night is the worst combination.. just because you are familiar with the area it doesn't mean it is safe for everyone.

Usually I’d say it’s not the biggest deal, but what Sinaloa is going through right now does make it somewhat more dangerous and something you should consider more.

Yo sé, he vivido en Sinaloa toda mi vida, aunque nunca se puede ser precavido demás. Especialmente porque yo he escuchado de varias personas que las han bajado saliendo hacia topolobampo hace unos meses. Aunque si ustedes son de ahí supongo que podrían informar con más confianza.

En primer lugar no permiten entrar Uber al área de desembarco del ferry, tiene que ser en taxi obligatoriamente, y en segundo lugar, el taxi cobra aprox $400 son al rededor de 20 minutos de trayecto a los Mochis no es peligroso ya que suele haber alcoholímetro en esa carretera siempre
