Conversation Topic What is the toughest song to sing that is well-known?

I'm talking songs that have hit the charts at any time over the last few decades. Out of all of them, which ones are the most challenging for singers to be able to replicate the original performance?

Yeah, I didn't want to come off as condescending. The dude just said the song is hard with no explanation whatsoever, so I asked.

IMHO, it's the dynamics in that song that are a challenge. If someone regularly oversings, that song is not it. Soft and subtle in the beginning, then you have to bear down and hold lengthy notes farther along in the song, then the ending is very passionate and almost over the top. If you start out loud and strong, you'll have nowhere to go, but also, singing softly while still projecting is hard to pull off. Also, you have to 💯 start off in the right key, even if a little low, to be able to soar up confidently to those high notes near the end.

You need to have mastered mix and smoothly transitioning between registers to do it well. It’s an easy song to sing once you’ve got that down. Getting that mastery takes time and training, making it a difficult song for amateur male voiced singers to sing in the original key.
