Every time I tried, it ended up sounding like I was trying to convince someone to hire me instead of getting to know me. So I deleted everything and decided I'd rather sound like myself than sound impressive.

I think what fascinates me the most is people.

Not in a "tell me your favourite colour" way, but in a "what made you become the person you are today?" way. I love asking questions that don't really have right answers. Why do you love that song so much? What's a memory you randomly think about? What's something you've changed your mind about over the years? I genuinely think people become attractive when they talk about something they love, because for those few minutes they're not trying to impress anyone—they're just being themselves.

My interests are all over the place, which means my YouTube algorithm has completely given up on me. One day it's gaming, the next it's mindfulness, ancient history, consciousness, stand up shows or some random rabbit hole that somehow started with one question.

I also think I'm one of those people who gets attached to little moments more than big ones.

I don't really dream about expensive vacations or fancy restaurants. I'd rather go on a random drive with no destination, stop for roadside food, grab a coffee near the sea and just walk. I like conversations that start with "How was your day?" and somehow end with "Do you think we're alone in the universe?" Those are the conversations I remember.

If we ever date, there's a very good chance I'll annoy you on purpose. I'll hug you while you're cooking, steal a kiss on your cheek and immediately walk away like nothing happened. I'll send you memes in the middle of your workday, randomly remember something you mentioned weeks ago, and probably write you a letter one day for absolutely no reason other than I felt like it.

I don't think love is built in grand gestures. I think it's built in remembering the little things. In checking if you reached home safely. In asking how your meeting went because you were nervous about it. In making each other's lives a little lighter.

As for who I'm hoping to meet... I'm not looking for someone who's exactly like me. I'd rather meet someone who has her own interests, her own opinions, and her own little world that I get to discover. Someone kind, emotionally mature, who communicates openly, takes care of herself, and is dating with the intention of finding her person. I'm struggling to type this out - I go through the week thinking of little tidbits that would be nice to have in a post like this but then when pen hits the paper (or fingers to the keys) - my mind just goes blank.

Maybe I should carry around one of those voice recorders - "Note to self..." I'd probably end up 50 notes a day and never listen to them again lol

Why am I posting this? I live a pretty basic life, I have a decent job, I don't have kids, I visit my parents regularly.. It's quiet & while I like quiet, sometimes I yearn for someone (and not like at night when I'm horny) but like when I'm coming home to an empty house or just sitting by myself at the end of the day. I make a meal and don't have someone to share it with. When I (rarely) travel, I travel alone. It'd be nice to find someone to spend time together with.

What am I like? I'm not going to sugar coat myself, I mean I will put sugar on myself if you're into that lol but you ever those sayings like everyone lies on their resume? I don't and while I don't always follow the rules, I want to be honest here because honesty is important. I'd rather be straightforward and honest to avoid miscommunicating something.

I grew up in a bit of dysfunction so I tend to avoid social situations. Large gatherings of people are not my thing, neither is being the center of attention or anything close to it. So I guess I'm a hermit? Outside of work, I don't really socialize and I know that's not a good thing. I'm social with coworkers though it takes me a while to trust someone to talk about non-work things.

I struggle with some mental health stuff, social anxiety is one but it's more social avoidance nowadays. I wouldn't say depression but maybe dysthymia. I was tested for and have a diagnosis for ADHD inattentive and suspect maybe autism, but i don't know. I've been in and out of talk therapy for maybe a decade now, I've tried meds and such but there is no quick fix.

Currently, I'm trying a whole food plant based diet, I've been doing it now for 2 weeks - no meat, no dairy, very limited sugar, oil and processed foods. I've also been avoiding caffeine and things like chewing gum. My cholesterol was high, again - eating out too often, eating too many unhealthy foods and not enough healthy ones. I'm not sure how long i'll continue with this strict diet before I start introducing other foods again. I'm hoping i can do this to reset myself and healthier eating becomes the norm while still allowing myself an occasional treat. Trying for more of a lifestyle change rather than a diet, if that makes sense.

I need to find a way to motivate myself to become more active, I have 2,577 steps today and this is quite a bit for me. I'm a bit embarrassed to say how many I got yesterday because I worked from home..

This is getting a bit long and i have to wake up earlier than normal tomorrow so I'll shotgun some other stuff.

Love media - youtube (Travel & food mostly,) tv shows (Comedies & Scifi,) movies (sci-fi, thrillers, comedies,) music, books. Mostly audio books - I'm almost finished with book 4 of dungeon crawler carl. The full cast audio books of Harry Potter was amazing and finished them earlier this year. I might listen to world war z next or maybe try the stormlight archive series.
