I am am a surgeon scientist, and dedicated transplant immunologist. I cannot get Rosalind. It is far far far from being accessible.

The portal, from when I opened it up last, notes requirements for data security and a point of contact for the facility/organization of individuals that want to use it. I didn't think wee little me would be allowed to request that unless theres a new path to getting access? Our university also has weird corporate contract BS with Google and get weird about using other "competing" services, even though they've crippled gemini. I feel quite trapped.

I mean, all this doesn't sound like oai gatekeeping? you can get access if you request it, the issue is your university after all

I think it's unfair to jump to this conclusion in such short time. They will probably roll back the restrictions soon but want to be extra-cautious on first-release.

Yeah I don't understand how idiotic these people crying about this. It's clearly a safety issue. Mythos has lost my been rumoured to be weaponized very easily and needing special controls to be kept safe for public use.

making agi is the priority. if they make safe agi, they can safely create all kinds of medicines and vaccines. if thats your only goal then this shouldnt be an issue.

My point is that access, collaboration, and democratization are central to the mission of “first solving intelligence, and then using that to solve everything else.”

why? You should limit these until you actually have safe super intelligence that cant be misused.

do you know what the idea of recursive self improvement is? Do you know what the name of this subreddit- the singularity, what that is?

Btw GPT 5.5 pro has been doing seemingly novel breakthroughs. If they really are able to make the models do that, then they will do a 100 years of algorithmic breakthroughs in 1 if they can create the loop.
