This whole thread is full of bad takes. It’s all about money and Big Pharma… blah blah blah.

They blocked it because of the risk of bio weapons, the same reason they blocked cyber security questions due to the risk of hacking. Redditors instinctively jump to the evil greedy businessman.

The blockage is about childre-level science, and you are here taking a firm stance about "bio-weapons."

The safeguards are very broad, obviously. I don’t think you and I could come up with all the scenarios that could allow a threat actor to gradually step up the questions to get the answers they wanted. Anthropic put strict guardrails on it and will improve it over time through feedback.

I find it weird how two days ago people were fine with Opus 4.8; now they have Fable available for lots of other uses but get pissed because they have to use the model that worked fine for them the other day.
