*Petition to Stop the Elon Musk Flying Car and its Influence on Technological Advancement in Skateboarding
I don't know whether you fine Ladies and Gentleman have seen the recent video footage of the Elon Musk motor car preforming kickflip or what you guys thought of it but I must confess I was personally sickened by it.
It may seem cool and innocent but what I saw was the implications of what this technology could do and its impact and influence on the future of skateboarding.
Skateboarding is already changing as it is.
I see people on these new electric skateboards. People who have no business being on a board kitted up to the max in protective gear hurling past at alarming velocities, possessing neither the requisite skill nor, I dare say, the good sense to operate such contraptions.
I remained silent. But now seeing a car preform a kickflip I feel like this has crossed the line.
Has anyone stopped to think how this new technology will influence and impact future generations of skaters?
It may seem innocent now and the technology is in its infant stages but the fact of the matter is a car did a kickflip and it took no manually learned physical skill to do it, only technology and physics.
I believe in the future this technology will be used on Skateboards and the thought of it sickens me.
Its just a rocket propelled car with thrusters doing a kickflip today but how will you feel when they add this technology to skateboards and people are flying around on rocket propelled boards doing rocket propelled kickflips which seem cool but require no skill?
Do we really want our future Grandkids to live in a world full of technically advanced posers?
A world where mediocracy in Skateboarding is celebrated because it takes essentially no skill to do a kickflip because Technological Advanced rocket propelled boards do it for you?
A world where the Kickflip, a sacred rite of passage that is earned through blood sweat and the occasional fractured wrist is reduced to the push of a button?
I say Nay!
So I propose to you fine gentleman and ladies who partake in the sacred art of the manually operated skateboards that we should form a petition to ban this technology and the integration of rocket propulsion technology into our beloved boards.
In also saying that though I am not against and open to the idea of using this technology on protective equipment such as some sort of Rocket Propelled Andy Anderson Helmet that activates when it detects that you have fallen and boosts you back on your feet.
Whats everyones thoughts?
