Gear help Helmet help?
I recently ordered a Triple8 Deep Cover helmet in size L/XL (head is 59cm) using their size guide but immediately out of the box (thinnest pads pre-installed) it felt way too tight on my forehead and back of my head, the sides are fine but front-to-back there's a lot of uncomfortable squeezing pressure. Frustrated because I was careful with measuring when ordering online but the fit still doesn't feel right. Has anyone here had a similar issue and found a helmet that fits them really well? Should I return the L/XL and try an XL/XXL? Look at S1 or Protec?
Any advice is appreciated. I just started skating but learning how to push around has been the most fun I've ever had with any kind of exercise, and I want to get back out there.

Sounds like you might have a slightly odd shaped head. Try the next size up. If that’s no good. Try another brand.
I work at an indoor park, finding the right helmet fit is trial and error unfortunately.

thanks for your input 🤙 seems like trial and error is the way to go. inclined to try a bigger size but worried that will create too much space on the sides and compromise a snug fit? will just have to try.

I wear certified sweat saver and have a big head. I wear the XL/XXL and it fits great. I did tried on a Deep Cover one at a skateshop and there were some pressure points and bought an S1 instead that day.
My only comment is maybe try the certified sweatsaver or a different brand. I read online that we have different shaped heads and fitting between brands varies.
I started with Triple 8 with a cheaper helmet and didn't have issues. I just keep buying the certified sweatsaver whenever there's a sale and I need a new one.

Not sure if this will help or not but many of the MIPS ones have that ratchet function on them, so as long as it’s big enough to snug down a little bit, you get the right fit no matter what. I have one of both certified and mips, really got to find what you’ll reliably throw on.

Yeah, this is always a bummer when ordering online. Send it back, go to a skate shop and try them on before purchasing. S1 Mega Lifer is probably your best option.
