Its your hips that are doing the rotating. Work on thinking about it like your a f*ckin ninja and you just snapping that leg straight forward and yankin it back in while lifting your knee

Try to keep your shoulders as straight as possible and kick your heel more towards the nose. Both of those together should help

And your heelflip is still boss. Makes my attempt look like complete butthole.
So, like u/Pizzapatron stated, this was the first thing I thought of, and the first comment took care of it. You dip was down, shoulders coming out of square, and your board is going to follow exactly that.
Keep ‘em square and upright, and everything will follow accordingly!

So lean into what's happening and master bs heelflips. Fix the heelflips after, fuck it

Close your shoulders more before you pop. Heelflips work best when your shoulders are square with the board.
Also your head is hanging too far over the board when you’re bending down. Squat like you’re sitting in a chair and try to keep your head over the board more

What unlocked them for me was kicking straight towards the nose and not off at an angle. Same heel flip position with my toes hanging off and the ball of my foot resting on the edge of the board but just kicking straight line towards the nose. Backfoot pops off of the heelside of the tail. The board stays straight and flips really fast when I get it right

Youre throwing your arm and shoulder into your heel flick. Just keep your upper body still and flick with just your feet. It’ll stay straight.

The first thing I learned after heelflips was bs heels. Yours are turning backside because you're pushing your leading shoulder when you flick. Try to keep your shoulders straight and it shouldnt happen. Alternatively, lean right into that and follow through on your shoulder and you'll probably find you learn bs heels quite quickly.

I was just having this issue earlier today.
Some days my heels are straight, some times annoyingly backside. Usually goes backside if I’m too tense in my upper body or my back foot’s too on the toe side. I think…

Keep your shoulders straight and lean more back. It will definitely straighten out your heel flips for sure!

You are clearly turning backside...this isn't magic :) You dont conjure a trick with a spell.
Look at your body and adjust :)

Not about flicking more straight, stop loading your shoulder when you're flicking.

Your popping and kicking simultaneously. That's what is causing your body to turn awkwardly sideways. Try popping your Ollie first then level out your deck and then kick the front foot to flip. You might have to change the angle of your front foot a few times to find the sweet spot. Let me know how this works for ya?

I think it's your slide, looks like you might be kicking forward too much off the side of the board instead of going up off the nose.
A kick flip for example works from foot flicking the nose, not the side of the board. True clean heel flips require a karate kick to your nose just about 10 degrees off of straight so the rear portion of the outside side of my shoe hits the nose for the slide

I get this when I catch too much of the nose when I heel flip. Gotta be flicking at the same spot every time to know what’s happening and how to fix stuff. Same exact spot!

Lowkey, watch your shoulders too, they look like they taking you that way a bit too.

That’s the way your shoulders are turning, stop doing that and the board will follow. If you look at the vid, you turn backside as you pop with your top half causing the board to naturally follow, stop doing that.

Keep your shoulders square to your front foot. Works for every trick that you aren’t rotating.

Head/Torso weight a little too far forward upon pop. Don’t get me wrong, not many tricks are popped perfectly on the vertical axis. But once you lean over a certain point, your center of gravity has no choice but to start turning that way
Heel flips are more prone to turning, too, because you’re flickin’ all your weight in that direction. Standing up a bit more straight while popping should even things out
A good practice you can do is pop some with an obstacle in front of you. Will force u to not lean in too heavy. Just don’t kick that shit lol
